SLW42 Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Hi guys and girls would anybody be interested in a S13 brake setup compatible with a corolla lower control arm? Cause i was looking at the hub setup of the silvia gear compared to the ke stuff, the difference is that the silvia hub slides straight onto the lower ball joint, and the corolla joins onto the steering arm which sits on the ball joint and then you bolt you strut to that, if you understand what i mean? So i was thinking if i could find a ball joint the same diameter as the corolla, but where the hub fits over, the thickness of the silvia hub would anybody be interested in buying these as a easy brake/strut upgrade? compared to the ubër expensive ae86 stuff!, due to the fact that you can find s13 shit everywhere, and then if you wanted to you could go too 5 stud using s14 hubs, As i'm willing to use your lca's and just fit the different balljoint onto the corolla lca so all you would need to do is find a set of s13 coilovers or stock struts! Does this interest anyone? If you wanna know more or have any questions/opinions on this awsome idea feel free to post and feed me your feedback Quote
gmack Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 If you were to sell it as a full bolt on kit, I would be interested. Good luck :) Quote
Duckman Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 That could be a very tidy alternative for the corona/pug/hilux set up with a shit load more options considering the after market support S13's have(off the shelf parts). Would make engineering a coilover/big brake set up just that little easier. Quote
ke70dave Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 i think i know what you are refering to. though basically you are saying that instead of using an S13 LCA you want to use the standard corolla one? i believe this is possible if you can find that magical ball joint that fits into the corolla LCA but has the right taper/diameter of the s13. I'm fairly sure this exists, have a search on toymods, i think i saw it on there. might have been some weird magna or cresida? something odd it was. Quote
TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Sounds interesting... It's got me interested. Will be watching this thread. Might be the upgrade I need. Quote
SLW42 Posted August 25, 2010 Author Report Posted August 25, 2010 I was thinking if you wanted a longer control arm i was thinking about offering the 30 55 lca's as i have recently found out the 30 55 there the same length as the xt130 corona lca! DAVE your exactly right mate instead of using the silvia lca you can utilise the corolla lca, and keep the same track with a bigger brake and a coilover option :) Quote
flamingheads Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Once I have money again I would be very interested in this if it was bolt on and depending on price. Quote
