Teddy Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 OMFG WHAT FOOL CUT HOLES IN DOOR CARDS FOR SPEAKERS ! UGHA !!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 well spotted teddy :P rollin imports on the gold coast was bringing them in a while back, they're in the white pages seriously tho, why would you even want a te27/37? you'd be paying like 10 grand (bought, shipped, complied, registered) for a 30+ yearold car that's so rare you wouldn't want to put kays on it, or drive at all for risk of something happening to it, never mind race the bloody thing. and at the end of the day, it's still just a corolla with a slightly bigger engine that's why i stuck with a ke25, at least when something happened to it, it's not like i'm destroying a piece of history. i can get finance to buy a te27, but owning a museum piece isn't for me right now, i want to actually be able to use my car Quote
rob1 Posted August 31, 2005 Author Report Posted August 31, 2005 (edited) Well, I've put about $5000 into my ke55 all up including purchase price and the fact is it's still worth $1500! All I've got is a 4 door ke55 with a 2tg and a set of wheels. If it was a genuine te37 and I spent $1000 on it then at least I wouldn't have lost so so much if I sold it. ke55 700 2tg 550 carb body 50 t50 100 clutch setup 250 exhaust 240 wheels 360 tyres 860 tacho 160 temp guage 85 seat 100 harness 150 flares 330 landed momo 100 boss kit 80 fuel pump 80 clutch master cyl. 80 new (wrecker) brake parts 70 new pads 80 konis 440 springs 140 Miscellanious 800 Well, theres $5725....................And I'm sure there's alot I've forgotten. I've also got over 2 grands worth of stereo, If I could get a te37 landed for 8to 9 grand, I would drive the ring out of it every day, and then sell it after a couple of years for more than I could get for my car!!!!!!!!!!!! I love my little car, I have built it, and it's my creation. But at the end of the day, what is someone going to give me for it???????????????????????? Offers!!!!????????????!!!!!!!!!???????????? lol Edited August 31, 2005 by rob1 Quote
rob1 Posted August 31, 2005 Author Report Posted August 31, 2005 I'm not bagging your opinion, don't get me wrong. But like you say..............It's only a corolla, Ke25 or te27, I like them both, and whether it's a genuine levin or a 25 done up, it's still just a dirty ol' corolla! I'll worry about putting kays on my car when it's a ferrari!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
rob1 Posted August 31, 2005 Author Report Posted August 31, 2005 Brake master cyl. 80 ram tubes and sock filters 130 3 core radiatro 330 The list goes on................. hehehe. I bet I can reach 8 grand by the end of the week.............. offers?:P Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 well i spent 5 and a half grand on my ke25, and if i sold it, i would have put 3500 on it and not accepted anything under 3 grand, and i would have got it Quote
rob1 Posted August 31, 2005 Author Report Posted August 31, 2005 poly bushes for front end 60 grand total, untill I think of more......... $6325!!!!!!!!! Quote
rob1 Posted August 31, 2005 Author Report Posted August 31, 2005 Mate, we do up our little cars because we love it! I don't regret it at all!!!!! It just makes you realise when you add up all the things you spend money on when doing it!!!!! Anyone want to buy a ke55??? lol I will keep adding to this post as I remember things I have spent money on........ I could use it as a selling point one day!!!! Quote
Redwarf Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 I don't add up expenses. The thought is too scary. I shudder to think what a spent on the original dwarf....... Quote
Felix Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 cars are just a waste of money. you should try to keep them as standard as possible, and any mods you do, make sure they can be easily undone. this will give you a greater market if the time comes for resale. you can always sell the good bits separately to make your money back. Quote
rob1 Posted August 31, 2005 Author Report Posted August 31, 2005 I was just putting my view forward regarding the aspect of buying a te27/37. I guess whatever you buy, the modifications don't add to the re-sale. Which reinstates your point of the easily undone mods felix. Quote
