Yeah just checked the cable and it's very hard to turn.I live in Perth how much would you want for the cable plus shipping to me in Perth. So I just take the cluster out disconnect it from the gear Box and put the new or in ?

$25 delivered, might be cheaper to get one local, You can do it without pulling the cluster out but only if you have small hands.

Yeah that is all it takes.

Perth is a couple of days, go to your local wrecker tomorrow and if you have no luck then I will send it.

Not sure if the Twin Cams are different but, on my 82 the speedo cable is actually 2 piece.

From the gearbox the cable travels up to the top of the firewall where there is a connection in the cable.

I used to have this faint annoying squeak behind the dash (behind the clock) at low speeds, and

the speedo got the shakes at certain speeds.

Undid connection and packed it with grease. Squeak gone, speedo is now steady.

Might be worth trying if it's 2 piece.

If you do replace it, replacing the half to gearbox is a 2 minute job rather than

trying to get behind the dash.
