W55 Bell Housing K To W Box

now someone probably already knew this, but i had to check it for myself.

 

the box i tried it on was a 22re out of hilux/corona st141-2, bolts stright up, so the bell housing you want for this conversion is from a late townace with a 7KC or E.

didn't 5K townaces also have sideloader G52 boxes? i owned one of these bellhousings a long time ago, and that's what the wreckers said it came from

 

and that would make the gearbox a W50. the same ones rotary boys put behind 9 second 13b turbos

some did have a w52 and some had a w50 steelcase, depends on the year i think.

Trying to source a good box now :P Will post pix of the conversion, hopefully it fits in the tunnel ok. My mate has a 21 spline clutch and flywheel for the job. This housing runs a hydraulic clutch, so does anyone know which clucth master cylinder fits easiest in a Ke55 rolla.

 

Forgot to add that this is a 9 bolt W5X pattern.

so does anyone know which clucth master cylinder fits easiest in a Ke55 rolla.

 

From what have measured up a master out of a '79 corona should fit, thats what i'm gonna try anyway.
