ke70dave Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 geezzz louise!!! 5L!!!! man throw that 4k in the bin and get another one!! 5L oil for 2000km 2000km = ~200L/fuel so for every litre of fuel your using thats 25ml of oil!!!! Not far off a two stroke. Quote
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted August 12, 2010 Report Posted August 12, 2010 The old 180B wagon I had years ago used to use about that much oil, eventually we gave up, ripped out the radiator, removed the bonnet (air cooling FTW), drained the sump and ran it on lawn mower fuel....... Bastard ran for 6 months like that :fuzz: Only thing that killed it was the dry chem fire extinguisher..... Quote

Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted August 13, 2010 Report Posted August 13, 2010 (edited) From the assumed condition of your engine, it'll hold valve anywhere between 1 minute and 3 minutes, lots of variables, like topping up the oil first, having water in it, cold or warm start etc. etc. And before you ask, no, it won't go BANG, it'll rattle to a disappointing halt in a cloud of oil smoke. SLW42 Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 thats quite dissapointing i was hoping that a k motor would go bang like most things would go bang once you held them flat out as far as they can rev too Quote
eiriksmil Posted August 14, 2010 Report Posted August 14, 2010 The death of a 4K is in other words as spectacular as the experience of accelerating a 4K car itself :P They use a hell of a lot of oil.. I always had to top up mine a litre between 3 and 5k km.. Quote
