oh what a nissan feeling! Posted November 5, 2011 Author Report Posted November 5, 2011 Yeh, 4wd conversions in general i think, people used to think it was ok for them to be excessively slow and make up for it with low range. With a bit of grunt its a whole new game, when i go out with others they see how i drive it, and where it can get, and realise why people are doing 4wd conversions. Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted November 8, 2011 Author Report Posted November 8, 2011 In this attempt my front passenger cv is already broken, and i forgot to put the rear locker in. Solid hill though. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBcFgjaHPUI&feature=related burnouts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBUAcqTuKxM&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W76bQDDztas&feature=related Quote

oh what a nissan feeling! Posted August 22, 2012 Author Report Posted August 22, 2012 So we got back from cape york about a month ago, great trip. Will likely go back again soon. So.. some pics. Just about to leave. At clairview for brekky on the way up, between mackay and rocky. milaa milaa falls in atherton, met up with my brother jonny at francis creek just above townsville. Camped at musgrave roadhouse about 250ks from the start of the telgraph track then telly track the next day, camped 2 ks in at palm creek. Palm creek entry, turned plenty of people around, we soon realise the majority of people who do this trip have never been offroad before. another creek. Me realising that the beers are running out way too quick! Jonny got some crap in a bead, and we gave him heaps telling people his landcruiser broke a cv. The circus tent all setup at another camp. good swimming spots everywhere, this was halfway along the telly track. and some others This was a muddy climb from canal creek, there was a short chicken track around but that aint much fun. The famous nolans brook, the pajero and patrol had no trouble, our other mate marty was not as lucky. The typical dirt road up there, lots of red dirt. The jardine river ferry, this is only an hour or so from the top, Loyalty beach camp grounds, near Seisia right at the top, saw crocs, dolphins, and bought more beer in bamaga. We think this croc was about 5metres Got heaps of dolphin shots, they were playing there for at least half an hour. so cheap! At the croc tent, me and the missus. The trek to the tip, about 15 minutes of strolling. fishing near there, caught spangled emperor, and some dart. Martin bought these out of the back of a ute off a fella in town, they were actually massive but beside jonny not so much.... So much ant mound Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted December 16, 2012 Author Report Posted December 16, 2012 So i decided to make a fuel tank after putting a hole in the factory one, the factory one hangs stupidly low, so a good time to fix that as well. I cut the pump flange, gauge flange, and filler pipe from the old tank. And made another tank out of 2mm sheet zinc. It holds about 68 litres, which is much better than the 40 i was putting in the old one by the end. I mig welded it mostly from the inside, put full height baffles in, and a surge tank. Then new tig arrived, and i went over the seams on the outside with the tig, was quick and good practise anyways. painted in 2 pack etch. I have ordered some kbs fuel tank liner for it, so will fit it once that is here. then beach trip!! Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted February 23, 2013 Author Report Posted February 23, 2013 I have had the fuel tank in for a fair while now, went up the beach, and did some solid hill climbs on under 1/4 tank of fuel. no surge issues, and no leaks either, so success. It sits really high in under the car, you pretty much need to get under the car to see it, so it should hold me up offroad anymore either. took some pics this arvo. Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted May 3, 2013 Author Report Posted May 3, 2013 Put this on the dyno this weekend, no reason just bored. top end has some sort of issue according to the graph, still sounded good though (moo), just the graph says there's an issue. Quote
