clubby2084 Posted August 8, 2010 Report Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) A few years back my mate left an esky full of Christmas food on the back seat of his VP Commodore (frozen seafood, chooks, meats etc). Anyway a VERY long story short, the Police impounded my mates car, for 2 months... I picked the car up late in February with the esky still on the back seat, and OMG the smell !!!. The car had sat for 2 months in the Brisbane summer sun with that esky on the back seat. As I walked towards the car you could smell it. The doors were closed and the windows were up. Didn't even attempt to open the esky, it got thrown out at the next industrial bin. As for the interior of the car. I replaced the entire interior in that car (headlining as well). Didn't work. Short of shoving a straw into a box of bi-carb and snorting half the box. Every time I got in that car I could smell that rotten esky. Everyone told me the car smelt fine after I replaced the interior. Was one of those smells that imprints into your memory. Edited August 8, 2010 by clubby2084 Quote

ke70dave Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 hahah clubby2084 thats funny as. i had a 2 week old half finished ice coffee asplode under my rear seat once (threw my toolbox on the back seat and it clipped the bottle...), i got rid of most of it easily, as it only went on the metal floor, managed to miss the carpet. though it did smell prrreeettttyyy bad for a few days. definately some 4 x 100 window winding action for a while there. on another note, has anyone else noticed that imported japanese cars all seem to smell familiar? few mates have R32's/s13's/r33's/cefiro's. and we all reckon they smell the same. i dunno if its something they do to the interiours in customs etc. we just say "smells like japan"... (though ive been to japan, and it doesnt smell like this...) its not like its a bad smell, just smells the same. Quote
Twinky Posted August 9, 2010 Report Posted August 9, 2010 Would this help with repeated Indian/Chinese takeaway themed afterburner gasses?? Quote
SLW42 Posted August 11, 2010 Report Posted August 11, 2010 I've noticed that too ke70dave, most r32's 3's even r34 skylines smell different inside the car and it is odd, were as most silvia's smell fuely like that unburnt fuel smell when your filling up at the servo with bp ultimate Quote
