Twinky Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Should have asked them then and there "what is the legal height". Quote
jono1986 Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 Man that's awesome, if that's not in the knowledge base it should be. Quote
ke70dave Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 hmm that pdf is goood.. Â minimum eye brow height for a ke70 is 345mm, which is the distance from the centre of the wheel, to the edge of the guard. Â i dare say to comply with that the car would have to be quite high. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 I just love the fact that it does not specify an eyebrow height for KE20!!! :ninja: :) :laff: Â There is still the minimum 100mm from the ground rule however that would allow you to lower it still quite well. Â As for it being in the knowledge base, keep in mind it is for SA only. From what I understand, InTrenches is from SA :( Quote
InTrenches Posted August 3, 2010 Author Report Posted August 3, 2010 thanks luke. Â Twinky i did but i had nothing to write it on and forgot. Quote
Funking-Awesome Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 I didn't think your car was that low? Obvisouly i need to look closer. Quote

philbey Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) I just love the fact that it does not specify an eyebrow height for KE20!!! :ninja: :) :laff: Â There is still the minimum 100mm from the ground rule however that would allow you to lower it still quite well. Â As for it being in the knowledge base, keep in mind it is for SA only. From what I understand, InTrenches is from SA :( Â Hang on a minute guys; this is now out of date information. Â This the page to go to. Â Check the PDF "Requirements for raising or lowering vehicle ride height/October 2009" Â This document specifies nothing about eyebrow heights. The only place you should get this information from is straight from the horses mouth, the DTEI themselves. Anything else (like Luke's link) may possibly be outdated. 100mm only applies to fore of front and aft of rear axles. In between is dependent on the wheelbase of the vehicle (measurement in mm, multiply by 33.33, this is the value of the height in the centre of the two. Â I would calculate this and write it down inside your glovebox lid in permanent texta. Keep a copy of that bulletin as well. Edited August 3, 2010 by philbey Quote
greenmac80 Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 weird if you were to still ring regency they say eyebrow hieghts. Quote
LukeAE71 Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 I reckon the average Mr Plod on the side of the road would go by eyebrow heights too. Â Then again if you pull out the book etc and show him he will just end up sending you to Regency for being a smartass :( They don't like it when you know your stuff and quote it. I have been done for being prepared before :ninja: Quote
ke30 driver Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 so what is the legal height for a ke30-55 sedan from gaurd to centre of wheel? Quote
Oh-KE Posted August 3, 2010 Report Posted August 3, 2010 In SA it's 335mm front and 320mm rear. Quote
