Gearbox Oil Capacity

i've managed to get myself a 5 speed from the wreckers to put in. at the wreckers i took the side plate off and dumped all the oil and checked all the gearsets for visible damage. all good.

 

so the question now is how much oil do i put back in? and also is there a preference on viscosity and breed of oil?

 

do i fill it through the side plate?

 

it's a k50 box, thanks for your input

2.7Lt. If i remember correctly.

 

Or once it's in the car, remove the plug on the clutch fork side of the box, and fill it till it just starts to run out of the hole.

 

Last time I did a K50 swap, we just used some 80w/90 manual gear oil.
