86ONE Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 It's an 83 Corolla KE70 and this is my problem: Sit in drivers seat, turn key with accelerator, car starts, BUT when i let go of the key and it returns to the "ON" position, the car stalls! I have checked ALL of the fuses in the fuse box in the car, and the "ENGINE" fuse in the engine bay, along with another 1 or 2 in there... I called a m8 n he said to check the coil (BOSCH GT40), i did that and yeah the tester lights up when the car turns over... Earlier today i disconnected the amp fuse while playin round in the boot and when i reconnected it it made a small spark which it usually does, but it looked slightly bigger than normal. I'm pretty sure its an electrical fault, any ideas? Scott Quote

TRD ke70 Posted August 23, 2005 Report Posted August 23, 2005 ignition barrel for sure, if you keep just enough pressure on the switch when you release it, you'll find it should still run. turn the ignition on (not start) and try your coil test again, if there's no power it's the ignition barrel.
