SLW42 Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Hello ladies and gents i am in the process of obtaining a ke36 wagon, and i'm very interested in weather or not a ke70 dash will look any good into the older style of car, i realise what is involved in doing said conversion but i really like the dash's in the ke70, i think it might actually look good, feel free to give me suggestions on what you think it will end up looking like and weather or not it would actually suit the car at all? Cheers Justin Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 Sorry but I don't even like the KE70 dash in the KE70 :P That era had the worst interiors in my opinion. As the KE70 are mostly thrash cars this isn't really a problem tho. Quote
Raven Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 *turkey slaps!* Dude, don't swear around here saying that xE7x word! You should be ashamed! :P Quote
RainWarriorDregs Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 seen a corona with a s13 dash and a old cresta with a newer chaser dash ( i think) if you wanna do it, do it. apparently dash conversions are quite easy, except for making all the dials and shit work go for it i say, show me what it looks like. SLW42 Posted July 13, 2010 Author Report Posted July 13, 2010 Sorry to offend, mystical old school guru's, please just hear me out, the only reason i put this question forward is because, i was at archerfield drifts on wednesday just gone up here in bris, and there was a 70 with an s15 dash in it and it looked wicked to say the least, so thats what got me to thinking, WILL YOU FORGIVE ME IF I DO IT AND IT LOOKS GOOD? Twinky Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 lol the E7 series dashes are not the best looking dashes in the world. IMO the older dashes look porn. Just a bit of light modification to the original dash would set it off. Quote

Did said KE70 also have an SR20 or CA18 in it? They probably put the dash in aswell to make all the guages work easily. Agree XE7X dashes are ugly. You've never pulled a whole dash out hey? Removing them isn't too bad, but trying to put a whole dash back in is a bitch. Now you want to try and modify one dash to fit in another car...... that just sounds like a nightmare to me!!! :P You can make the 30/55 dashes look pretty good with a bit of handy work. This is my dash in Tar..... Quote
Trev Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 You can make the 30/55 dashes look pretty good with a bit of handy work. This is my dash in Tar..... +1 Round gauge's look more race spec, I love the look of them. Quote
SLW42 Posted July 14, 2010 Author Report Posted July 14, 2010 Taz said ke70 had a really really pissed off............. Turbo 20valve in it :P , also i understand how annoying it is to pull a dash out and get it back in, in a xe7x. But i just like being different some will probably hate it to death and wanna stab me for doing it or even suggesting it hahahaha, but if a xe7x dash is not the best thing for it, (besides time spent on a making the original nice) which dash would you suggest out of the toyota range :hmmm: . And Taz i do like the way you have done that Quote
etchris Posted July 14, 2010 Report Posted July 14, 2010 (edited) SLW42 this is the car your talking about yeah? Edited July 14, 2010 by etchris Quote
SLW42 Posted July 14, 2010 Author Report Posted July 14, 2010 It was like gunmetal gray, low as with 15xsomething wide super lights, half cage, quad lights, s15 dash and no standard guages, just aftermarket stuff and a h.u.d for the computer Quote
