KE70slider Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 hey guys i just got hold of a k-t bell housing and a new motor. i have it all sitting in the car. but the g/box crossmember doesnt line up with and holes in the car is there a certain gbox mout i have to use or do i have to make a custom one? cheers Ryan Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 (edited) Just slot the holes in the one you've got 5-10mm and you'll be apples. :( :D Or maybe that was to line up with the second set of holes in a 30/55. how far off are they? Oh and cable or hydro? I'll add you to the "K-T rollcall" thread. :D Edited July 12, 2010 by Taz_Rx Quote
KE70slider Posted July 12, 2010 Author Report Posted July 12, 2010 its a cable one. they are bout 30mm off. i might just weld 2 strips to the original crossmember and drill appropriatley Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 Does the KE70 have 2x set of holes under it? If so turn the cross member around 180* and see how far off the second set of holes is. Quote
corollaart Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 don't no if it helps but i had a ae71 cross member and the three holes for the gearbox mount where way off centre. can't check how much as ive sold it,but defently way off centre. rob Quote
LukeAE71 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 They only go one way, so as Taz Rx said turn it around. I assume you are using a T50 crossmember as they are different? Quote
KE70slider Posted July 12, 2010 Author Report Posted July 12, 2010 nope I'm using a original ke70 one do i need an ae71 one? i just drilled the rubber mount holes to suit the ke70 crossmember Quote
LukeAE71 Posted July 12, 2010 Report Posted July 12, 2010 I am guessing you need a T50 crossmember, manual one too as the autos are different also. Even though you have drilled for the rubber mount holes the gearbox mount position might be further forward/back from k50 to t50. Quote
KE70slider Posted July 12, 2010 Author Report Posted July 12, 2010 no worries will look into that thanks for the help Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 13, 2010 Report Posted July 13, 2010 They only go one way, so as Taz Rx said turn it around. I assume you are using a T50 crossmember as they are different? The CM that came on my K-T50 was the same as a K40/50 one. Not sure if thats the " original" one though. Quote
