ok so i have a ke70 khanacross car any way i do three laps and my struts are leaking put new ones in 3 laps later same so i need something bigger better whats the go? what should i do?

AE86 coilovers, or modify XT130 struts to coilovers and then you get a bigger stub axle/bearing and a tad more neg camber.

do xt130 struts bolt on corolla bottom arm and steering thing where the 2 bolts go from the strut to the thing the tierod end bolts to?

should do. i'm pretty sure the only difference between a xt130 LCA (bottom arm) and a ke70 one is the xt130 one is a bit longer. don't hold me to that tho

If you go down the xt130 route, you will need the steering arms off one aswell. Ke70 steering arms will not work with the xt130 strut.

Same with the springs - you'll have to swap the springs over or go coil-overs.

ok cool so, i put xt130 complete strut and steering arms in because i have modified ke70 bottom arms, i will mod the xt130 steering arms so i have all my steeringlock back again cause my ke70 ones are modded for extra lock and for faster lock to lock

ok cool so, i put xt130 complete strut and steering arms in because i have modified ke70 bottom arms, i will mod the xt130 steering arms so i have all my steeringlock back again cause my ke70 ones are modded for extra lock and for faster lock to lock

Does anyone know it this will stop your struts leaking?

 

Have your struts been bent at all?

 

What do you think caused it in the first place?

 

Did they bottom out and blow the fluid out through the seal? Are the shafts bent? Maybe they were just not the inserts to use for gravel work.. Bilstein or Atsugi or some other well-known rally name would probably work in your KE70 struts if they would fit.

 

Can you get wet shocks that you can modify yourself?

 

Maybe even longer progressive bump stops to absorb the force before they bottom out would do it, or stiffer bounce so they don't go down so hard.

 

You might go to all the trouble of fitting Corona gear and have the same thing happen.

i have 10 000G worth of suspension in my track car vs commodore i don't wanna spend money on this car the struts blow cause they jus can't handle what i put them through so i was thinking some bigeer stifer ones xt130 would help

i also have some koni yellow's that fit commodore vn ish i think and they are in fiat 131 struts so if xt130 is bout same size as commodore they should fit

Koni yellows should take a hiding.

 

They gas? mine aren't... which would be a shame as you need good stiff gas for what you're doing.

haha 10g was a expensive day lol that was for my ex aus #1 auscar but the rolla doesnt get that much love a swapped a vn power steer pump for a 34/34 webber and koni yellows in a fiat front end and a set of 15x7 fiat rims lol
