paseoman#10 Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 ok guys, just need alot of help before i take any steps into this conversion. last saturday my stock 1.5L toyota paseo engine blew, only 800m from my place that i had just left. havent checked out the motor yet, but have a feeling one or two of the conrods have snapped, and the block has 3 holes in it, which are big enough to put your fingers through, making it possible to feel the pistons inside the barrel. i have since been looking into the costs and hassles of inserting a new motor, but would like to insert something with a little more reliability and power, and have been told that i should look into a 4AGE as they may fit. can you help me with this? and if so, it would be much appreciated if you could supply some helpful hints or info on the difficulties and methods of fitting the motor in. but the main conern is, would everything measure up easily? eg. belts, etc I'm in alot of trouble so this help would be great. thanks Quote
xmoht Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 As your Paseo has the 5E-FE, the simplest way to go is to fit in another E series engine. The 4E-FTE is going to be a decent power upgrade with a lot more power than a stock 16v 4AGE. Probably not exactly the answer you were looking for but there you have it. Quote

Not true. 4EFTE puts out 101kw and 157Nm, stock-standard smallport 4AGE puts out 100kw and 149Nm, with a blacktop 20V putting out (according to Toyota, figures are often disputed) 121kw and 162Nm Not saying that a 4EFTE would be a bad conversion, just putting it in perspective. And a 4EFTE would be easier to do too. Edited June 30, 2010 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
