rollake70 Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 hey guys i am looking to buy these will the fit and if they do do they apply much power ??? also do you need to modify the stock 4k for and fitments?? Quote
altezzaclub Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Definately better than the stock carb. ..and they have the linkages I want!! Those are the the earlier linkages that let each carb idle individually, the later linkages bolt the two carbs together. By themselves its hard to say exactly what they do as far as changes, as I fitted extractors and had a cam grind at the same time. They will bolt straight on, but you will need to make up a fitting to connect the throttle cable to the center of the tappet cover. Easy to do.. If they're under $400 grab them! Quote
philbey Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 You might find that the flanges on that manifold are thicker than the flanges on your exhaust manifold and you may have to file things down to get them even. Otherwise, you may have trouble with exhaust leaks around the gasket. Quote
astro66 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 had that same setup on my worked 4k ...they run really nice but take a bit of dicking around to get to idle nice and balanced...especially if the shafts are worn and leaking air (they can be resleaved/over size shafts) but for drivability and power thay are almost as good as twin webbers  i rate the carb setups ive run as standard/ twin standard/ 32/36 webber/ twin su /twin 40mm webbers (you buy the twin webbers just for the noise they make ;) ) Quote
Sloth Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 When we fitted my twin SU's and Lynx manifold we had to make an extension to attach the carby upright to the manifold. Might be a pic or two of the finished product on my 7k KE55 thread. Quote
Graham02 Posted March 20 Report Posted March 20 I am looking for an intake manifold for my toyota 4k 1.3 engine to fit a set of Hitachi SU carburetors on i do have a 2 sets of very nice carburetors i just need the manifold and if it so happens to cone with another set of carbs thats ok i am really hard up for a LynxCorp intake manifold Quote
