e70van Posted August 16, 2010 Author Report Posted August 16, 2010 ^cheers man a pic i found on my phone. i like this one :P hanging to get some work done on this but no carport to work in atm, plus work = van neglect :D Quote
e70van Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Latest ideas for the van can be read here ---> http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=44238 feel free to write something there, even if its funny :( Quote
Evan G Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 howd the new tailgate fit? if i was you, id turbo it with the standerd internals, run about 8 psi. get it tuned and have some fun Quote
e70van Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 hey dude, haven't actually tried fitting the tailgate :( my car is parked on grass and its turning into a swamp now. the lawn hates my locker, that's for sure! stock internals hey..? could work. :D will wait and see what others reckon. I'm use to motors that are factory turbo (my old 3sgte and 1jz), so I'm not too cluey on turboing N/As yet. Quote
Evan G Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 you need to speak with trev :? i plan to run a 5K with stock internals with a draw through supercharger :( can't wait till i get my borescope :D so i can inspect my piston/bores. Quote
e70van Posted September 15, 2010 Author Report Posted September 15, 2010 (edited) Bit of an update: in the process of deleting the back windows. I brought some 1mm sheet metal and I'm cutting it to size and welding them in. looking really good so far :D just have a couple of rivets holding the sheets in temporarily until a friend can do some nice clean welds for me. No pics as of yet :( Also redoing the headliner atm and going to be making new interior panels for the rear section. while all this is going on Ive started sanding the body and removing the side mouldings, then the dint removing/filling will start hopefully next week! I should really take more pics, but I'm abit lazy with this sorta stuff. Don't want to loose any momentum haha! Edit: also brought some new tailgate struts and for the front doors i have new bailey channel rubbers and weatherstrips to install once the paint is done :) Edited September 15, 2010 by e70van Quote
e70van Posted September 17, 2010 Author Report Posted September 17, 2010 My van is almost a proper "panel"van again :D refer pic: some welds and some filler and I'm good to go. And that gemini in the background is my grandmas. will be my next project when i get the time ;) Quote
Ben-89 Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Loving the panels mate, they are what define a panelvan arent they :P Please put up some pics of the Gemini as it looks original. Quote
the_van_can Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) hay mate, it's looking great with the panels in the back. keep up the good stuff Edited September 17, 2010 by the_van_can Quote
e70van Posted September 18, 2010 Author Report Posted September 18, 2010 Thanks "overrated ke70" and "the van can" :D I said i was going to get rid of the windows when i first brought it. i wish i had sooner because it looks 10times cooler! Today i test fitted the wagon tailgate. bit of a story why I'm changing the tailgate but basically my old tailgate was WARPED by the previous owner fitting a 750NM tailgate strut to the LHS (from a camira wagon) and the RHS was a blown 400NM corolla one. it consequently bent the tailgate making it not able to shut properly and leaving a horrible gap on one side.it was also letting fumes in the car and making my little bozo exhaust sound really damn loud :P The wagon tailgate is super clean inside, it shuts awesome and doesnt rattle at all. i only have to put my headunit on volume 35 now instead of 42 lmao! heres some pics of todays efforts: Quote
e70van Posted September 18, 2010 Author Report Posted September 18, 2010 Me carrying a 6meter PVC tube the only way the van can ;) stylin' overrated KE70: the gemini. My gran has had it since 85, was manual but converter to auto because of her arthritis, original garden state plates, has about 210ks on the clock, no panel rust. never been polished (needs a respray now :( ). it runs so smooth it rediculous. Trying to source new bumpers for it atm. My plans are respray original colour, heavily lowered. keeping the hubcaps, but i might look into thin whitwalls and a rear venetian. pics: :) Quote
Ben-89 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 The panel van looks very nice  The interior looks very tidy and tear free. Especially the top of the back seat! The rear bar looks okay - as in straightness, but are they losing their chrome finish? Quote
Undertaker_is_the_best Posted September 19, 2010 Report Posted September 19, 2010 hey liking the pano mate looks good and great looking gemini there very stock and orginial Quote
e70van Posted September 19, 2010 Author Report Posted September 19, 2010 cheers mate ^ got the rear panels welded in tonight. also removed the door mouldings, but i found a rust patch under the door moulding on the drivers door?! looks like moisture was sitting there between the double sided tape :( should be able to fix easy enough. Pics of windows to come :) Quote
