e70van Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 (edited) Hi everyone, thought i'd introduce myself and my car. Name is Andreas/Andrew and I'm from melb. Ive been on toymods for years and ive playing with plenty of toyotas. i've owned a 3sgte celica st162, ke70 sedan with 4age, ra60 celica, ae82 twincam, a jza70r supra then back to a rolla. I'm loving my van  had it abit over a year now and happy as with its progress. I didnt realize there were so many van's getting around! Ive spent prob 3hrs reading all the panelvan build logs on the site already. KE18s.. wow! love these things. Anyway i haven't made a build log of my own on any sites, but here goes! Background: I bought it completely standard off ebay. its in pretty good nick rust wise. (done a couple little repairs, bonnet has the worst rust :( and would like to find another) pics of when i brought it. original specs list: 1981 ke70 van. 260ish kms 4k/k40 original brown (has been repainted in parts. paint is crappy) beige/tan interior with vinyl floor windows fitted all round (i hate these and want to get rid of them in favor of sheet metal :D ) Driveline 4age 7rib redtop bigport (stock) factory headers with 2in exhaust (x1 resonator and 1x muffler) not too loud. sounds ok. little up-swept twin tips K&N pod filter ADM T50 gearbox with rebuilt shifter Exedy h/duty clutch RA60 Celica T series with modified mounts (obviously). locked 3.9 center Suspension Front AE86 Tein camber tops XT130 front struts, 260mm brakes and calipers XT130 LCA's with urethane bushes RA40 tierods, XT130 rack tubes ST141 wagon rear king springs up front ST185 KYB front shocks with spacers JDI cut/shut steering arms Rear Reset leaves +1 leaf added. (needs abit more low) KYB front sierra shocks (pn:343185) T18 rear swaybar with ra60 link pin mounts and custom link pins. Wheels bilbo (one peice light jap wheels made in the late 70s) front: 14x7 +/-0 . 185/60 sumitomos Rear 14x7.5 -5 . usually 175/65s, whatever brand i find :( Interior 95 Honda prelude seats AE71 tacho dash (wiring that in was fun!) CD player with 6" speakers in the doors AE82 Twincam steering wheel or a SAAS trispoke wheel Future Plans: Ok, bit unsure on a few things but here are some definite plans. *Respray and dint repairs - respray will be in the same metallic brown and pin stripes redone. removing side mouldings. fit new tailgate and get some new door window seals/rubbers. *more low all round *cool pair of skidder wheels *convert to front coilovers *remove back windows *maybe look for proper LSD *Madhouse front lip *New cd player and some 6x9s *redo back cargo area panels. currently had Velcro cushions on the side panels. *maybe fender mirrors The following parts i'd like to source: rust free bonnet, spare doors All comments, ideas welcome :D :) here comes the pics and a brief description :) prelude seats Edited February 1, 2011 by e70van Quote

e70van Posted June 17, 2010 Author Report Posted June 17, 2010 thanks for the complements rolla fans  For future reference (and to help my memory too! haha) Re: T series diff conversion: housing diameter is thicker on a t series than an s series. I found the corona rt104 came with T series (and some with borg warners.) Anyway i used the U-bolts from the corona and slightly elongated the holes on the original s series shock absorber/spring saddle plates. s series housing = 61mm approx, t series = 65mm. needed to shave the t series housing a little with the grinder too.
