ae95- wagon kid Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 can anybody tell me if i can put a 4afe head on a 4age block or 7afe block what components of the 4age or 7afe block will i need and can i use most of the 4afe accessories etc the head is ported polished and will be getting a hardwelded cam profile the same as the web cam on their site and 4age valve springs as of this weekend cheers Quote
GJM85 Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 that's like trying to run backwards. the F's slave cam setup won't allow you to reach the rpm like the G's wide valve head. You may well see high torque levels though. Quote

GJM85 Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 I do stand corrected... if you have plenty of doi to throw into your motor. Quote
LXY-642 Posted June 15, 2010 Report Posted June 15, 2010 Why not just use a 4age head on a 7afe block? 1.8 twin cam Quote
ae95- wagon kid Posted June 16, 2010 Author Report Posted June 16, 2010 i may as well use the head i have i can get hold of a small port bottom end cheap also another question which valve springs fit the head smallport or bigport or what cheers Quote

But you'll need to use the 4af water pump, the bottom pulley for the 4af timing belt is two things off the top of me head i think there's a couple of other things as well. I'm pretty sure i've made a posting of using the "g" head on the "f" block in the "AExx Corolla Discussion" page somewhere. It'll be the same thing just opposite. Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted June 16, 2010 Report Posted June 16, 2010 I see a lot of cost, time and effort for very little or no results. You could get 90% of the benefits of the 4AGE block by just getting higher-compression 4AFE pistons, which will also have the right flycuts on the crowns for the valves, and everything else will still bolt up as normal. Oil squirters/8-bolt flywheel aren't really needed unless you start chasing decent increases in power (and you won't get that from higher-compression pistons and a cam, especially if you don't have an ECU to support the cam) Quote
