Big Port Heads For 3/4k Motors

just wondering if anyone can tell me what a big port head is worth these days they are the ones with the welsh plug on the back i believe

I guess it'd depend on what the condition is and if the seller knows what it is.

The one i have i forked out about $200 for it but that also came with the motor and the car.

A few months back one on ebay went for about $300 from memory but it also had a bit of work done to it.

 

So at a guess anything between 10 to 300.

I got my 5K head machined out and port matched to a dellorto manifold for 150 bucks. Ports are now bigger than a 3Kbp

 

I honestly don't see the obsession with paying that sort of money for a forty year old head with a tempremental welsch plug. Give me a ported head half its age any day.

Agreed!! a good ported 4k head will out flow a big port any day.

 

It's not the size of the port that makes power it's the shape!!

cheers guys yeah i don't see the big deal with them ether but i got one thats been sitting in my shed for ever, i been asked what i want for it, but by the sounds ebay might be the go as it always is with some of this hard to get stuff.
