The above is an AE92/AE101 engine, the same as mine. Below is the MR2 version, and in place of the circled thing on the above engine is the distributor. The problem is, the circled thing in the picture above has a seal leaking oil, so it needs replacing, and I have no idea what to go and ask for. HELP!

Went to local Toyota dealership, tried searching for any model of Corolla that used coils on A-series motor. No luck. They don't list GZE parts in their inventory either. Then I spoke to one of the detailers, and he reckons that people use 7M-GE coils on their 4A-GE's but he didn't know if the CAS was the same. Anyone know anything about this???

BTW, replaced my leaking injector seals but didn't have any luck with my clutch problem while working on the car yesterday. We've removed any free-play and the clutch still won't disengage properly, and I can't select gears. HELP!!!

Has anyone had any similar problems with their clutch (as in, it won't disengage). I have a mechanical linkage to a brass-button clutch using a T50 Sprinter transmission connected to an AE101 4A-GZE (if that's any help). Next race meet is in just over a week, and I'm DYING to go racing so I need help desperately.

i have no idea if this is your problem, but: is the clutch plate around the right way?

years ago i put a clutch plate in backwards on my old ke30. what a pain in the ass, having to pull the box twice due to my own stupidity (lack of experience at the time). oh well, you learn from your own mistakes. character building, as they say.

I had issues with my ceramic clutch in the 55, take up was on the floor. Got around it by sleeving down the slave cylinder. I also know that this doesn't help you at all with a cable clutch......

if the cable is frayed and about to break, it will do this

also i lost all but one of the block/bellhousing bolts and it was doing this

NICK; whyever did you get rid of your sunny?

The clutch plate *should* be around the right way, as I haven't removed the clutch at all, we just swapped gearboxes leaving the clutch in place.
