i have a dogbox in my track car its a vs holden auscar i can rev match and stuff but what happens if you hold it flat and jus pull it into 2nd?

wont select 2nd, you have to match road speed to engine speed then it will slip in. better off just side stepping/dropping the clutch

No. Change normally. It wont make you any faster, and the equipment will last longer.

You sound like you're heading in the wrong direction. Smooth is what you need to be. Smooth is fast.

it would flat change like a dogbox it would be faster but usually with a synchro box its faster with the clutch

If you treat a box like that - not long

Another for smooth changing. You may (most likely may not) save a pooftenth of a second flat shifting, but the shock loading is gonna break traction and kick you sideways costing you bulk time. As Red said, smooth = fast, and he is one to listen too.

Buy the way, I only killed one K40 in over 10 years of motorsport - back into first gear at 50km/h took teeth of first gear.

hold it flat through 1st to 2nd and pump the clutch while moving it into gear. don't hold off the accelrator.

wagn- 2 k40s and 1 k50 sent to heaven

so do yous jus pull the stick no clutch without lifting the throttle and it goes in.. how many gearchanges do they last

There's no way you'll get it out of first without lifting off the throttle or using the clutch. Getting it into the next gear isn't so much of a problem, its just getting it out of the gear the currently has load on it.

I spent my last outing to the dragway flatshift all gear all day, But:

1, I have a K-T50, although this still isn't indestructable.

2, I was only doing to stop the boost dropping off so much in gear changes. In an NA car I would pay my gearbox some resepect and use both feet. :D
