Toycrash Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 This in a story of an classic Rally sprint racer called "Flame". In previous owner it had 16v 4A-G (201hv@engine. DIN), 5speed T50 modified closeratio dogbox, dana30 rear end with 5.38 ratio and lsd, bilstain front shocks and proflex at rear. I had opportunity to participate in one competition event at tarmac. And loved the car so much, that when the previous owner decided to move complete technics in AE86 body, i was forced to buy the rest of it :jamie: In couple weeks i'm going to get the body home. At engine partment i'm going to stay in 4A-G, but going to 20v setup. This is what it use to look driven by me. Quote

So it's a bit too new for my taste. Maybe i mod it look like pre -74. Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 fuuuuuuuck yeah!!! that is SOOOOO sexy :jamie: i so know what i want my ke20 to look like now  i thought ke20s ended in 1974? it would probably be somewhere between 70 and 74. does it still have a compliance plate on it? you might be able to have a rough guess from the body number Quote
demuire Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 Must be a really really early 75, if it is a 75? Didn't the KE3x come out in 75? I still think it looks cool :jamie: Quote
Toycrash Posted August 10, 2005 Author Report Posted August 10, 2005 (edited) KE20 was sold here in Finland, up to -79  the body is eighter -75 or -76. Anyhow i'm going to change atleast front hood and grille. Make some fiberglass copies from bumpers and something like that... And paint is going to be orange by my main sponser. Must make new flames tho. :jamie: Edit: Thanks folks for the thumbs up! And cheers Nick, thanks for inviting me here Edited August 10, 2005 by Toycrash Quote

Toycrash Posted August 10, 2005 Author Report Posted August 10, 2005 1979 20 series?? I'm moving to Finland. You may now call me Juha.... I don't think you like to know the shape of our old cars  On the winter time they spread much salt to the roads and you all know what salt and moisture does to iron. But any how, nice to meet you Juha :jamie: Quote
Toycrash Posted August 17, 2005 Author Report Posted August 17, 2005 Now it's finally home. :D First thing tomorrow i'll measure and make test fittings to the KE70 front axle... let the work begin :D Quote
Toycrash Posted August 18, 2005 Author Report Posted August 18, 2005 Ke70 x-member, ke70 lower arms, ta12 struts, te71 steering arms, ke70 diagonal arms and ke20 diagonal arm front member... i'm not sure how to call those diagonal arms but hope you understand :D (from chassis to lower arm) all fitted and he is standing on own "feet" :D Well it's just test fitting, but it went nicelly. Negative camber rules :D some new pics at: http://www.koti.phnet.fi/crash/Flame/ Quote
demuire Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 KE70 crossmember? That even looks like it bolts up... That's cool! Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 18, 2005 Report Posted August 18, 2005 keep in mind the massive flares he's running, a ke70 has what, 65mm more front track than a ke20. that's over an inch each side but that does look f@$king tough :D Quote
