SLOTH Snr Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 We have yet another problem since putting in the 7k. once the motor seems to have warmed every time you start getting past half throttle its like someones pulled the choke out. Ease up and it runs like shit till it's burnt off the extra fuel. A guy at motor improvments said he had the same problem and just put larger points. Has anyone else come across this before :jamie: Quote
Raven Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 float level, make sure the jets arent too big, make sure its gota return fuel line or it'll flood the inlet with fuel. Quote

dingo ke55 5k Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 Throw your old carby away along with the SUs and get yourself a 32-36 weber off a Escort / Cortina. A 7K should have no problems with this carb :jamie: Quote

SLOTH Snr Posted August 10, 2005 Author Report Posted August 10, 2005 Thanks guys. I have a set of su's from a triumph i'm about to fit up. Didn't want to fit them until i had some idea of a cure and it sounds like they might be it. Buy the way did i tell you Dazza Bush (kangaroosas) is a legend. The list of parts and suppliers he gave me for the su"s is brilliant. The photos leave no doubt as were things go. Hope to have the carbs fitted by sloth's twentieth. Will let all know how it goes.
