Hey guys i just think that if you want a corolla keep a toyota engine it, any conversion has its difficulties but hard work and effort will always reward you. Sorry i like to keep it all neat. I don't think that a 3sg is that hard into a 30 / 35 is that hard, the biggest problem is the dizzy/water, simple crank sensor w/aftermarket ecu? and a bit of work.

hey rod ive been thinking the b6 but

B6T

1,597 cc (1.597 L; 97.5 cu in) B6T - (78x83.6 mm) - The ubiquitous turbocharged, fuel-injected and intercooled 16-valve DOHC B6, released in 1985 and used in numerous models worldwide including the 323 GT-X, 1985-1989 Mazda Familia GT-X/GT, 1985-1989 Ford Laser TX3 turbo, and later Mercury Capri's. This engine was most commonly found mated to a 4WD drivetrain although FWD models were also available in the capri XR2 & 323 GT.

Power and torque outputs varied across markets due to emission and fuel standards.

The B6T available in north america came with 132 HP & 136 ft-lbs

The Japanese version of the B6T was the most powerful, producing 147 hp (110 kW) and 137 ft·lbf (186 N·m) due to better intake manifold & ecu tuning for better gasoline 95 octane

just the sheer amount of bolton parts available far outweigh the b6t, would be differnet and a mad revver but i don't think i could pass on the extra 400cc and cheapness of boltons

well that and the fast that 1.6L + boost for only 110kw it must be a pretty sad engine unless its hugely choked by emisions or something

well to fit an sr20 your going to have to make room for its big mother of a bellhousing, which is for it's stupidly oversized clutch/flywheel. This means serious chopping for you. However a CA18 uses a much smaller bellhousing and hence is easier to fit. It's meant to be lighter too

forward, no. , i would not make that compromise. About 10-15mm clearance from the firewall.

A few taps with the hammer, not bashing.

here is a link of me fitting the auto, there are before shots there to look at from in the car, and in the bay.

ignore the exhaust tunnel as that was done after i fitted the sr20.
