Import? Superlights are made in Adelaide dude. If they are imported then they are most likely not superlights. I think new ones could be had for less, if you ask around.
toyocharged Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 yeah about $230-250 for new ones from performance and the Superlite GTR the lightweight ones are around the 320 mark, most of the 13in rims are dearer than 15-16in rims now due to limited demand
Jason Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) There is superlite Australia wheel (shit) and superlite brand made in England. Not worth it if you looking at light weight wheels above 13/14inch, better options. (Just saw you saying you wanted 13 doooo) $120 is what is quoted on there site. Goes up to $180 if you want polished / differant colours IIRC. Edited May 16, 2010 by Jason

So what your saying is Aus superlites are poor quality and over priced and UK superlites are cheap and are of high quality ? sorry if i misunderstood.
Jason Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) Not that they are poor quality, but if you looking at buying some super light wheels look else were, 15x7 were +9kg. Even the british ones are not that light at that size. Thats of course if you care about unsprung mass.... No I'm saying the Aus made ones are cheaply made, and the British ones are better. Going by the weight vs loading factors. Edited May 16, 2010 by Jason

Going by the weight vs loading factors. They are a pretty popular wheel style worldwide. Its a look that people seem to like. Certain cars they suit really well.
Jason Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 (edited) I know, I like the style :D However I was also looking for performace as well, which is a let down :P 10kg is unaccetable IMO when you can get down to 4.5 with ease. I almost shat my pants when I swapped over to light wheels. Differance is night and day. I would love to feel some super light brake rotors Edited May 16, 2010 by Jason
Budowski Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 I gues the UK wheels over Aus wheels are cheap if you lived in the uk but by the time you covert 100 pounds to Aus dollar its 160 ish and then add frieght and customs my guess is that the cost would cancel out. Id just buy the Aus made ones based on if you like the style rather than performance. 9.2 kg aus supplier. The magnesium wheels (light weight) offered by the UK suppliers are 395 pounds which makes them 670 ish Aus dollar thats alot of a price difference also considering the aus alternative is 330 aus for 7.4 kg (GTR light)but that would probably still be heavier than the uk wheel at half the cost. I can see the point made if chasing performance go the lightest wheel and i agree.
mungi mods Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 go jap ... most are around the 5kg mark and have DISH
Jason Posted May 16, 2010 Report Posted May 16, 2010 I went from 7kg to 4.5kg, and it was significant, if you could feel the difference you would not be ignoring the performance.
madKE35coupe Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 ok wasnt expecting this much interest! i had a chat to my mate, and he imports them from somewhere in new zealand. and i can guarantee you they are light because i fit his tyres for him. you can literally pick the wheels up with one finger, and they look pretty genuine to me. he was going to lend one to me to try on my 35 coupe, so if he does i will take a pic and show you all. and $120 is including freight too
madKE35coupe Posted May 21, 2010 Author Report Posted May 21, 2010 they are exactly the same as these
Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted May 21, 2010 Report Posted May 21, 2010 Hell, at that price I'd have 2 sets....... What size/offset/colours can be done?
