Well guys chris doesn't have much access to the net at the moment, but i was round at his house last weekend and he decided he wanted a 5speed in the car so we got cracking, tuesday last week we decided to put the keto 5speed he had laying around into his car,

We ripped the old 4speed out and then compared the ke3x 4speed to the keto 5speed, and looked at the gearbox mount and found the 5speed wont just bolt on, so out came the drill, white out pen, ruler and the thinking cap (thinking cap optional).

Measured both bolt hole spacing and found that the xE3x GB crossmember holes are spaced about 8.2cm apart and the ke70 5speed holes are exactly 11.5cm apart,

I put the GB crossmember up against the 5speed and holding the big hole in the middle of the xmember about centre of the GB mount, marked roughly about were it was gonna sit, then wipped out the ruller to double and triple check, drilled the holes and turned out overrated

Put the gearbox onto the motor jacked the box up and bolted the box xmember up to the car lowered the gearbox down onto the xmember and found the one hole out about half a mm :) (which i think is awsome for a 1st go  ) anyways then we elongated the hole a touch and cut out the floor pan to accept the shifter position further back and now it's got a 5speed :)

Thats about the most thats happened with it at the moment I think will have to have a chat to him and see if he's happy with it

Nice work Fellas. KE70 shifter position in a KE3x = Win.

It does = mass amounts of win, i like were it sits in his car aye, sooooo much better than stock,

I have a pic of finished result with the holes covered, but my computer mouse decided to commit suicide as i was applying for jobs so once i get a new one i'll put the picture up chris sent me

In my KE38 i cut out the entire shifter hole including the holes and nuts for the shifter.

Cut the hole further back to suit the gearbox, welded in the shifter hole in the new position and welded in the original position. Turned out awesome!

he's still alive just has been flat out at work and the cars been having alot of drama's,

Last i was told the windscreen wipers have been working when they feel like it, after i replaced the wiper/indicator stalk thingy,

He replaced the wiper motor and they will work and wipe as they should then just stop whenever they feel like it, any idea what it could be??

So it only started after you changed the combo switch?

nah it has been happening before we changed it, i thought maybe it was just a shitty terminal or something in the switch, but it still did it then chris changed the wiper motor and it still does it
