Redwarf Posted August 8, 2005 Report Posted August 8, 2005 I'd love to be a Good 'Ol Boy, but my problem is my trailer sits very low, and you can't open car doors once they're on it! Quote
Xany Posted August 8, 2005 Author Report Posted August 8, 2005 i must say it was amusing watching you get in and out of my car through the window.... the exhaust is now hooked back up unfornately....so i prolly can't get anymore sound clips..:y: She seems to be a little more responsive, its gaining power everytime i drive it....its still running WAYYY too rich. Now i just gotta wait for the exhaust to carbon up again =) apparently gases go faster then. on the downside i think i have a rooted front wheel bearing....at 100kph the car has a very slight vibration through it which wasnt there 5 weeks ago....sounds like its coming from the front drivers side wheel. Rob, if you are home sometime during this week send me a pm and i'll give you a drive, i need to know if i can benifit from an electric fuel pump or not.... Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 9, 2005 Report Posted August 9, 2005 get the fuel tuned properly, if it's not cutting out because the float bowls run dry, then there's no use spending money on an electric pump  wheel bearings are easy. when you do them, put a big of grease in your hand and push the bearing cone onto it (upside down) until it squishes out the other side of the rollers :jamie: or just do what i do and keep tightening them up and don't worry about the big pits in the rollers  Quote
SLOTH Snr Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 You can always benifit with an electric fuel pump. It's a matter of wether the small gain ie: less power drawn from motor , more power to back wheels is finacially viable. Anyway the sound of the electric fuel pump humming in the boot is cool Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 (edited) the noise annoys the shit out of me, i hid mine under the floor for that reason and do you really think a little lobe on the cam would really cause that much of a drag on the engine? i must say i didn't notice any difference in mine changing from mech to electric Edited August 10, 2005 by Super Jamie Quote
kangaroosa Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 (edited) Anyway the sound of the electricfuel pump humming in the boot is cool If you purchased the Facet pump that i quoted you....well then your going to get the sound that you love. (sort-of) I have mine mounted inside the boot. Its sitting on a dense rubber block and bolted to the floor. I can just hear it over my exhaust and or radio stopped at a red light, if the tank is getting low. It bugs the shit out of me too. The trouble with Facet pump is that its a diagphram pump. So its not an even hum, but rather a clack clack clack (but a deep sound). It's still regarded as a good quality pump though. :jamie: Edited August 10, 2005 by kangaroosa Quote
