Jesseb369 Posted January 15, 2012 Author Report Posted January 15, 2012 As long as the bits pay for what I payed for the van, than I will be happy. I'll give u a text when it's ready for a strip! Gonna letthe missus drive itup the street and back to teach her to drive. Quote
Jesseb369 Posted February 4, 2012 Author Report Posted February 4, 2012 Finally have put in me super pro bushes! Fairbit tighter and I can feel the earth under my wheels haha. Next is the front control arms and castor rods then a wheel alignment. Much needed!!!! Then an adjustable panhard and then a new diff and then!!!! Sussyyyy after a well needed payrise! Quote
Jesseb369 Posted February 8, 2012 Author Report Posted February 8, 2012 Who's a diff guru around here? T-series are not common in cairns, well not that I am aware of. So. Just wondering what will work and what's good and one that doesn't need much screwing around to put under the car, that are in heaps of cars and can be had for cheap? My current diff is about to go pop :( Quote
7shades Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 The easiest to find up here would be the skyline/pintara wagon diff a lot of people use... Or liteace, whatever that one is. Either option requires welding mounts though, nothing bolts in other than the T series. Quote
Jesseb369 Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 What diff does a corona have? Quote
7shades Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 (edited) Depends on the Corona. Borgwarner mostly. Some have a T series, but depending on the model they're either too wide or the 4link mounts are wrong. The cheap/easy option you're hoping exists, doesn't. Otherwise everyone would be doing it :) Edited February 9, 2012 by 7shades Quote
Jesseb369 Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 True true. I want a t series. But not at a rip off price ,ya know. Quote
7shades Posted February 9, 2012 Report Posted February 9, 2012 Such is the Takumi tax. T series aren't that great anyway... For the money it'd cost to get one and a decent LSD you could adapt the skyline/pintara/vanette diff and get a cheaper LSD, plus have discs as a bonus. Quote
Jesseb369 Posted February 9, 2012 Author Report Posted February 9, 2012 I heard someone say that skyrice diffs are heavy? Although the discs are a better option than drums for sure. Quote
Jesseb369 Posted February 10, 2012 Author Report Posted February 10, 2012 Sounds like so much farking around!!!! :( just want skidssss Quote
swampgarage Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Other option is to find a t18, but up here that's pretty unlikely. They have drums though, no swaybar mounts and you'd still need to buy an lsd. Quote
7shades Posted February 10, 2012 Report Posted February 10, 2012 Sounds like so much farking around!!!! :( just want skidssss Buy a VN Quote
_FNQ_rolla_ Posted February 11, 2012 Report Posted February 11, 2012 May I ask why do you need a bigger diff? Have you broken a standard diff yet? Why spend money on a diff if you could be spending it on other parts that may improve the handling or the power. (just asking ~ its your money) Quote
