Trying to track a 3.89 diff for a KE30, All I seem to find if 4:11 and 4:33.

Was this ratio a option for the KE30 / 55 ? or should I be looking to swap the centre with a KE70 ?

Maybe substitute a set of diff gears out of a locally assembled datsun 120Y (BW diff) into a ke55 BW housing?

 

The 120Y's have the 3.89 gears you are after, and they both share the Borg Warner BW68 type differentials.
