ratiara Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 I haved loved Benz's for as long as I can remember and the opportunity has arisen to pick up a local SA car with a full family history for minimal $$. The cream on the pie is that is the second Merc built in Australia....body no. 002. Paint is rough but only because it has been half rubbed back after a dodgy paint job once upon a time. It has no rust and requires only minimal work to be up and running. Plans are: low, 50's custom style in red oxide and pinstriping and fat white walls.....let's roll. Quote
marksKE25 Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 WOW I love old Benzs'. Keep us up to date with your progress I will be very interested in this one. Top find!!!! Quote
Chobis Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 I'm gonna only wear a black suit to ride in this car! Love it! Quote
Nitephyre Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 Niiice, it'd be good if you could get the original plates re-registered :) Quote
ratiara Posted May 2, 2010 Author Report Posted May 2, 2010 Niiice, it'd be good if you could get the original plates re-registered :) Unfortunately the previous owner has kept rights to the plate because of family history, plus they would have been stupidly expensive. The rear plate is actually painted on, so I can never paint that boot....ever. Quote
RA28GT Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Sweet merciful crap. FREAKING AWESOME. I love old mercs. Quote
