Raven Posted August 3, 2005 Report Posted August 3, 2005 Progression Jet? Do explain.....please ;) Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted August 3, 2005 Author Report Posted August 3, 2005 Yeah, it should help...... Its something to take into consideration anyway! ;) Quote
Raven Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 Oh, i was also told by the carby guy i went to see, that they don't usually change the fuel jets to richen or lean the mixture they change the air correction jets. The smaller the jet, the less air that passes thru and the richer it is. Gives you something else to think about anyway. Mick Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Posted August 4, 2005 We will see. I am putting a kit through it this weekend and it should be on the car by the next. Ill update when I'm done, tell ya how it is running, and if i re - jet it, the specifications... ;) Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 your carby guy is full of crap, in a downdraft weber, you change the fuel jets AND air jets AND emulsion tubes to fine tune the mixture across the range of the circuit most people however, just leave the e-tubes as they are, and change fuels until it's mostly right, and fine tune with airs, sometimes changing fuel again (only 1 or 2 steps) if they need to Quote
Raven Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 thats what i meant ;) just that i meant from a standard 2 litre cortina that the 32/36 DGV comes from, you usually just increase or decrease the air jets. I havent even played with the emulsion tubes. Standard cortina main fuel jet is 132, secondary is 127. I'm running 140 and 145 respectively cos i want some power, not just economy. I have seen a formula on the net somewhere for working it all out. Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 that's about what i was running, with no problems Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 4, 2005 Report Posted August 4, 2005 check my garage page (http://www.superjamie.net/garage/) for a program called jetting.exe, it's designed with sidedrafts in mind, but it could give you a good starting point to at least get the car running Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted August 4, 2005 Author Report Posted August 4, 2005 OH, its something to think about for the future.... ;) Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted August 5, 2005 Author Report Posted August 5, 2005 Do they just improve the life of the carb, or improve all round performance??? Where can you get 'em from?? ;) Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted August 5, 2005 Author Report Posted August 5, 2005 Thanks Nick, ill check it out and post it up! ;) Quote
ROLLN'03 Posted August 7, 2005 Author Report Posted August 7, 2005 OK. I went to autObarn and priced a DGV 32/36 Weber carb rebuild kit and they are $45.00 BRAND NEW! I was pretty happy with that....... I have decided againest rebuilding the Weber and have thought up another evil plan....... :y: Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 7, 2005 Report Posted August 7, 2005 i hope it's not squirting petrol down the inlet manifold manually with a windscreen washer motor :y: Quote
