seabiscuit Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 (edited) i want to know what i need to do with my corolla because I'm changing it to manual i think the old auto gear box is 2 speed and I'm going to 4 speed manual what is the diff ratio of the 2 speed auto and the 4 speed manual and is there any thing else i need to change I'm not quite sure what you're asking. Please be a little (LOT) clearer about what the shit you're asking before you post. This makes no sense as to whatever answer/s you're looking for to help you achieve a successful manual conversion. RainWarriorDregs Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 its in the back of the car, inbetween the rear wheels Quote
azzy_10 Posted April 25, 2010 Author Report Posted April 25, 2010 haha funny i know were it is I'm not stupid i want to know the diffrence between the diff ratios between the 2speed auto and the 4 speed manual diff Quote
Felix Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 You'll need to rewire your auto park switch or you'll never start it. No idea of the auto diff ratios. You could always jack up one rear wheel and work out what your current ratio is. Quote
TE278U Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 if you google toymods diff ratio compilation there is info on every toyota diff that has been put in passenger vehicles, on your build plate, it should say U282 or U292 or something else at the end of the line that says trans/axle. then you can look in the table of ratios to see what yours is. (assuming that they haven't been changed in their lifetime.) common ratios in the ke30s were 4.33, 3.9 and 4.1 iirc. I don't think you'll have too much trouble doing a gearbox swap, but later you may want to swap depending on your driving habits. -dave Quote
rockinrolla Posted May 1, 2010 Report Posted May 1, 2010 you might want to look for a manual pedal box, for that model they may be a little thin on the ground!!! Quote
jono1986 Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 I'm not sure about the two speed, but you have to block of the kickdown vacuum hose, i think as well that the reverse switch is just a switch between power and the lights whereas the manual box switches earth to the lights. so you might need to put a relay in Quote
sammo[RL] Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 I'm not sure about the two speed, but you have to block of the kickdown vacuum hose 2 speed Toyoglide didnt have vacuum hose for kick down...Just the carby linkage. *I think* ke30 autos were 4.3, and manuals were 4.1....i think... Quote
philbey Posted May 2, 2010 Report Posted May 2, 2010 Correct, mechanincal kickdown only on the toyoglide. Pedal box is an easy switch over if you can find one. There's a dude wrecking a KE11 at the moment be worth dropping him a line. Quote
