TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 And do it with me in the lane beside you! Two blown 5k ke1x rollas running together would be great to see! Quote
irokin Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 There gonna be any fuel restriction? Leave it open with a retail $5/litre limit? Be a bit shit if people start spending megabucks on oxygenated fuel just to squeeze a few more HP from a dirty old K. Elf turbomax ran close to $10/litre last I checked! Should be able to get C16, avgas, alcohols and some unleadeds for that kinda price. Otherwise just limit it to E85 and pump fuel? Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 I think if we want an even field we should go with pump fuel. :hmm: Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Otherwise just limit it to E85 and pump fuel? I think if we want an even field we should go with pump fuel. :hmm: Not everyone has easy access at a bouser for E85. Nowhere is tassie has it yet, probably won't for a couple more years. To be honest guys, I'm not really all that interested in the whole quickest K thing! Even though I comply with the rules you're just trying to make up too many different categries and IMHO are just confusing things. I think it should just be 2x. 1, Quickest NA K (without N02) - So run of the mill street cars pretty much 2, Forced K - Beit Turbo, S/C, N02 and any combination or all! If you don't like fact that somebody else is twin charged with N02 and you're only turbo then fit a chrger and some N02. Can't beat 'em, join 'em!!!! Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 (edited) Sounds good to me. The twin charged Rolla is on ebay at the moment  Edit: Agree with the E85 thing as well, you can't get it in WA either. Edited September 30, 2010 by 67Rolla-Ken Quote
irokin Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 We don't have E85 bowsers either, everyone just buys drums from a motorsport workshop. I think you'd be a bit insane using pump ethanol for a performance application. I'm not interested in more classes just set some limits or some git will rock up running nitromethane and call the playing field level. Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 (edited) All on 98 Unleaded or lower?? I'm seriously thinking about this... a bit of porting, nice 2" exhaust and I could be a contender for the NA class :) Edited September 30, 2010 by 67Rolla-Ken Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 All on 98 Unleaded or lower?? I think it would be a bit stupid to run a boosted K on anything less than 98. While on the subject of fuel availability the only 98 octane we can get is BP ultimate. What other fuel companies sell 98 on the big island? Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 I think just BP, but it is available everywhere. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Sounds good to me. The twin charged Rolla is on ebay at the moment  Just found that. Makes me wonder if he ever got it running properly. It one thing to make it free rev and make cool noises, but load her up and its a different story. I asked a few question in the thread he had about it and he just seemed to ignore them. My guess would be yes the work is done, but as far as tuning its probably far from adequate. Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 One way to find out  Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 + the other thing is - He developed a little bit of a following to that thread. Don't you think he would leverage that interest and advertise it here!? + $3500 sounds a bit too cheap to me! Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted September 30, 2010 Report Posted September 30, 2010 Exactly what I was thinking... and he left RC in a hurry before any results were listed to this build. That could be for some completely unrelated reason, I'd hate to speculate. Wouldn't that car be worth $3500 with a stock engine? Quote
