Evan G Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 (edited) i scored this one off ebay for $650, picked it up from albury (boarder of nsw/melb). since i couldnt find anyone to tow it back on a tralier i decided to drive it back , it was a 3 hour drive each way. i loaded the car with almost all my tools from work. spare dissy/fuel pump/carby/tyre Just incase.. what a waste of time that was. drove it back didnt break down! but then again it is s a corolla some pics as the story goes from the seller he bought it off a 16 year old girl who was learning to drive in her back yard, so she painted the car in pink house paint! so the seller bought it off of her. sanded it all back and painted it in 2pak. he painted it and bought a bombadoor and lost intrest 200 something on the clock. 5 speed manual blows a bit of some on start up noisy thrust & input bearings stripped thread on the sump plug! over spray everywere and most of all square head lights plans convert to round headlights Granny spec no stupid mods engine rebuild tigh 113 cam carby rebuild fit my electric dissy respray the engine bay fix up the over spray replace input shaft bearing and new hd exedy clutch swap the a/c over to this car swap dashpad/cluster door/boot rubber kit throw the sedan rear lights as far as possible and swap to normall ke55 lights swap windscreens and hid kit then rego and roll'n i think thats it Edited June 9, 2013 by Evan G 1 1 Quote

So whats the go with the repaired ke55? scraping it etc? $170 for all weatherstrips (incl windscreens) i got one month rego left on repaired 55, strip it, transfer all the parts to new 55, cut rear gaurds out and most usual spots for rust and keep them as patch panels 1 1 Quote

Evan G Posted April 12, 2010 Author Report Posted April 12, 2010 (edited) 12.04.2010 got a carby kit from MBL carburettors in reservoir, told the owner i mite be putting a cam in it gave me a couple of extra jets and for $40 can't complain stripped the engine in a hour :bash:, found alot of metal on the bottom of the sump, what does the carbon build up around the valves mean? (i found valve saver in the glow box?) cracked manifold? all the bolts for the manifolds were loose! gonna throw the gearbox in the hot wash at work tomorrow, order the input shaft bearing/input/output seal Edited April 12, 2010 by Evan G Quote
