orangeLJ Posted April 27, 2010 Author Report Posted April 27, 2010 more done- Masked and painted the front of the radiator support again to get rid of the overspray (no photos though) then started on the lights- highs- Called it a night after that. Put Karlie to work on the sunday scrubbing and polishing the front bar, she did a wicked job and it came up pretty good. I'm planning to pull it off and rust convert+paint the inside and brackets, but with some more help from Karlie I threw it on and bolted it all up. we must be a real white car kind of household- Then I made a start on the passengers side- and while I was working away on the ute, karlie and the dog were obviously relaxing- at the end of the weekend it looked something like this- I also spent some time polishing up the rear bar ready to go on once I cut and weld the brackets up- Quote
Trev Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Looks good Chris, Might wanna throw a Q up on GMH about the light surrounds as I am pretty sure they need to be non reflective, Ricky went through something like this building one of his torana's, Good if you can keep them like that tho as it looks sweet. orangeLJ Posted April 28, 2010 Author Report Posted April 28, 2010 factory standard wash a shiny annodized finish, so it should be sweet. Quote
Undertaker_is_the_best Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 sweet ride and coming along very nicely Quote
Trev Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 factory standard wash a shiny annodized finish, so it should be sweet. Ok, Might of been different on the torana light surrounds, He was told it can reflect the light into drivers eyes and shit like that. Quote
orangeLJ Posted April 29, 2010 Author Report Posted April 29, 2010 I'm not that worried, it wont be my eyes! hahaha. most torries have black centres on the surrounds, and they were originally painted satin black, so maybe thats the deal. Quote
orangeLJ Posted May 2, 2010 Author Report Posted May 2, 2010 Stokesy (trimmer) came over on sunday morning and fitted the hoodlining and B pillar trim! looks unreal! Finished off most of the dash issues now still need to cut and patch this mess though- stereo is now in here- need to make a cover for it too, so nothing smashes it around. any idea whats meant to be here?? It just looks blank and boring, like something is meant to go there Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 3, 2010 Report Posted May 3, 2010 Ashtray? Doesn't appear to be one elsewhere. :) Quote
orangeLJ Posted May 3, 2010 Author Report Posted May 3, 2010 Trevs on the money, in up-specced models they had air vents for air con and heating. Its just a little glued in cover, but it will stay until I get air con sorted. The ashtray goes in with the dash lower section, which reminds me I need to paint the ashtray face to make it tidy. (hooray for a change holder!) Windscreen and rear window are going in next week too! exciting! Quote
orangeLJ Posted May 14, 2010 Author Report Posted May 14, 2010 Bought something different today for pocket change (well, change anyway, I had enough change in my change jars to pay for it! haha) has a disc brake rear end, factory air con setup, full set of stockies with decent tyres (fitted) pedders suspension that isnt too old (lowered springs etc) some nolathane bushes, interior etc etc. Also threw in the bonnet I wanted too! so lots of bits. So for $200 its a ripper of a deal! Quote

SLO-030 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Looking good man. Were the 2 screws in the B pillar trim the only way of securing it? Mine just has a neat fold in it. Quote
