slippery Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 can any body tel me if a 4k efi system uses the disi for the fuel injection side of things ? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 The ECU needs a trigger from somewhere in the ignition to fir the injectors. It would most likely get this from the coil (just like a tacho does) as a "Coil negative" trigger. Quote
slippery Posted April 6, 2010 Author Report Posted April 6, 2010 so how will it know what injector to fire and wen ? Quote
scottiriver Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 the coil has a negetive trigger that the tacho uses, this may be used to fire the injectors at a speed, according to the voltage from the coil, good luck Quote
Taz_Rx Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 so how will it know what injector to fire and wen ? It won't. It'll just fire all of the injectors (as a bank) every time the coil sparks. To have sequentially fired injector as you're thinking of requires a crank angle sensor or some sort of other 'dual pulse' trigger. Quote

Taz_Rx Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Don't laugh. :y: I have a home made K series crank angle sensor in the shed. Only other thing I really need to set my engine set up with sequentially fired injection and quad coil packs is the 3x other coils and ignitors. Then its just a matter of re-configuring the ECU. If you haven't seen my turbo car before then click "tar" in my sig. Quote

Taz_Rx Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Several reasons: To be different To learn about turbos, EFI etc The love of the indestructable K and IMHO because 4AGE's aren't all they're cracked up to be Quote

slippery Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 cherz man big help so i could even use my old points disi with it then ? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Yeah mate can still use the points dizzy. 4ke had no ECU ignition control so its just and input trigger. If you were to use an aftermarket ECU that can also control igniton then you can use an elec dizzy as the input trigger. Its still a single pulse trigger so you can't run anything sequentially but you can control the ignition curve and then just use the dizzy cap for spark distrobution. Quote
rockinrolla Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 I take back anything I may have said in the past to offend you Taz Rx, from what I just read you sound like a very clever person, my mistake I apologise. :y: :fuzz: Quote
