snot35 Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Any ideas what the car weighed ready to go? Quote
TRD ke70 Posted May 4, 2010 Author Report Posted May 4, 2010 Yeah, it was 800kgs in full rally trim. NO fiberglass panels were on the car at that stage. But that was a JDM KE70, not an ADM one so it was lighter. Quote

TRD ke70 Posted May 5, 2010 Author Report Posted May 5, 2010 Hey Mitch, The ADM had side intrusion bars and the JDM's didn't. That's probably the biggest difference, apart from the bumpers on the earlier JDM ones, they had small chrome bars, unlike the ADM, they all had poly bars with heavy steel reinforcement. The later JDM's also ended up with these heavier bars. There is a lot of minor stuff also!!! Quote

There's a whole heap of stuff, it just depends how carried away you want to get with it and how much money you want to spend? We have gone to the extreme of using alloy bolts in places!!! Look at hole sawing the frame in the boot and bonnet if you don't want to fiberglass one up. On the inside there's a heap of brackets that don't do shit, remove them!! Take every second bolt out that holds the guards on, just be careful not to remove too many bolts!! Quote

jimi91 Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 here is the old engine, manifolds with base plate, engine mounts, oil pick up, gear stick, sump, extractors, all have to be modified or changed. hey just woundering if ya had any measurments or plans on that upright kit I'm looking at doing one myself for my rolla at home see ya jimi Quote
Taz_Rx Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 The engine mounts for uprighting is pretty simple. Its doing something about the new angle of the gear stick shifter that can be somewhat of an issue. Quote
Doogs Posted May 19, 2010 Report Posted May 19, 2010 That thing sings ! What a sweet little K motor. :rolls: Looks like a handful of fun mate. Quote
TRD ke70 Posted May 19, 2010 Author Report Posted May 19, 2010 Sorry Jimi, only have the TRD uprite parts info. you would need to find someone who has one in bits to get the measurements. The base plate for the inlet manifolds would be the hardest info to find i think. Have just looked at the shit i have, and i must have photocopied the base plate years ago, and i still have it. Unfortunately my scanner isn't big enough to copy it. Quote
