Des Posted April 4, 2010 Author Report Posted April 4, 2010 So many questons. Alex, Were your Webers rebuilt when you put them on your 5K and do you have part numbers for your K and N filters ? The springs that are on the studs which hold the Webers to the manifold, Did they come with the soft mounts ? How is the vacuum supply for brake booster and the PCV system ? Does look like there will be much room for an air box and an AE71. Quote
Trev Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 A soft mount kit comes with all fittings either springs or rubber isolators, Important thing is to not do the nuts up too tight. Des if you look at my engine bay pics I had the brake booster hose running into number 4. Quote
bLinded_ Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 (edited) When I got my carbs (Dellortos) they needed to be rebuilt. Gaskets and O-Rings were all perished and in general were shit condition. I just bought a couple of rebuild kits and did all of that myself. New gaskets, O-rings, Needle and seats etc. I think they were about $35 each for memory. Don't have part number for the filters, but, I will go take some measurements and look it up on the K&N site. With the soft mounts, Trev is right. They come with everything needed, minus the studs to go from the manifold to the carbs. Redline part number is 52-110. That is for ONE softmount kit. PCV and brake booster are running off the same line. The Redline manifold for the K series has only one thread tapped into it for a hose barb. So I have both running from that with a T piece. Will get back to you with filter dimensions and part number and also more photos. Edited April 5, 2010 by bLinded_ Quote
Des Posted April 5, 2010 Author Report Posted April 5, 2010 Does getting the vacuum from one runner provide enough vacuum for the booster to operate properly ? I went in the shed today and was fiddling with the 40's and it looks like i will need to put a kit through them, Get new banjo fittings and bolts and replace a few screws. Quote
twisted2 Posted April 5, 2010 Report Posted April 5, 2010 the redline mainfold runs the brake booster off the 4th runner aswell if you find out what the aircleaner part number would also be interest Quote
Des Posted April 6, 2010 Author Report Posted April 6, 2010 I went to Budget Auto Performance Parts today and they are doing me up a quote on rebuild kits, linkages and the red line manifold. Quote

Des Posted April 11, 2010 Author Report Posted April 11, 2010 Well I've started to collect parts for my Weber setup and found a good dealer in Melbourne that isn't too expensive but I'm still sourcing some parts locally. Speco meter liquid filled 0 - 15 psi fuel pressure gauge. Quote

Des Posted April 25, 2010 Author Report Posted April 25, 2010 About $1070 to rebuild them, Linkages, soft mounts, fuel line fittings, Manifold, filters, fuel pump, pressure regulator, pressure gauge and a detailed tuning book. There is more but i can't remember the lot. Everything to get it ready to start and tune. Quote
