Des Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 Hey Hey, I've seen a few different designs of intake manifolds for Carby fed 4AG's. I'm curious to see what people have done with theirs in an AE71/KE70/AE86. The main bits I'm after are manifold length, Carby positions, Linkage setups, Fuel line setups, Fuel pump setups and air filter setups. Parts list so far that i think i will need: 40mm Webers x2. I have Linkages. I have Carter 4070 or Holley red fuel pump. Intake manifold to suit small port 4AG. Fuel regulator set at 3.5 - 4.0 psi. Trumpets. Air filters/Air box. Have i missed anything ? Des :D Quote

bLinded_ Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Des, with the setup I run, I am still just using the standard mechanical fuel pump. Also not using a regulator, but I am yet to have any problems at all from too much/little pressure. Didn't get to take any photos today as I was busy, but can do tomorrow. Quote
Trev Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 (edited) Des, with the setup I run, I am still just using the standard mechanical fuel pump. Didn't get to take any photos today as I was busy, but can do tomorrow. 4ag does not have a mechanical pump tho, Last time I looked at a holley red they were around the 12psi mark, Just checked again and they run a max of 7psi Dunno if they have changed the pumps at all as the blue one looks lower. Des If the reds only push 7psi max then don't worry bout a reg. EDIT: Forgot to add that the recommended PSI for a weber is 4-5psi. Edited April 4, 2010 by Trev Quote
bLinded_ Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Yeah 4AG will have a normal EFI setup with high pressure pump, but I was just answering Des' question about what I use. I think even though 4-5 PSI is recommended for Webers, I think providing that the Needle and Seats are in good condition, a bit of excess pressure should still be fine. Might be a matter of seeing how 7PSI goes, and slot a regulator in if need be. Quote
