Sloth Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 I can't believe they can design something that looks that bad... I don't mind cars that have a bit of a square look, but this (and also the cube) is ridiculous. It looks about as aerodynamic as a Tarago.... or a brick. Some of the photos make it look like the illegitimate love child of a 200 series and one of the new Suzuki Swifts... Quote
JiP Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 At least the Torago has a slant front. This is square all round. Quote
Xany Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 Mr shades, you have just earned yourself a demotion in my books..... I think i know where they got their styling from.... ok seriously, maybe this though... Quote
7shades Posted April 2, 2010 Author Report Posted April 2, 2010 IT LOOKS LIKE A FRIDGE ON WHEELS.. :D I thought toaster. And FYI Mr Xany... The bB has been around for about a decade. Cube even longer. The Soul is a cheap (and slow) Korean facsimile... :S Quote
greendog Posted April 3, 2010 Report Posted April 3, 2010 i saw a cube yesterday and it looked awesome in the flesh i reckon. Quote
Nitephyre Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 I've driven a Cube and it was flat out keeping up with traffic... Not surprising, they're a completely different beast... :D :P :fuzz:   Quote
7shades Posted April 4, 2010 Author Report Posted April 4, 2010 (edited) That's because those Renaults f*cking haul ... Most of the new euro vans are surprisingly quick... My Merc Vito will hand any Falcodore its own ass 0-60  Edited April 4, 2010 by 7shades Quote
Nitephyre Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Agreed, the Renault Master I hired to move in Feb was quite nice to drive and hauled arse, considering it was a 4mtr FWD tiptronic, slightly chiselled around the edges brick. Quote
godlovesugly Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 I don't mind it, but ive always liked the little square Scions. Quote
7shades Posted April 6, 2010 Author Report Posted April 6, 2010 something new and different i guess? That's my take on it as well. It may not appeal to everyone, but as you say, at least its something different. If SOME people support it, maybe Toyota will have the confidence to build more 'different' vehicles instead of the boring as batshit commuting appliances they trundle out at the moment. Oh and for the box-haters... How about a nice curvy Will Cypha? Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 The bB is a Yaris and the Xb is a Rolla. Sort-of. The first-gen Toyota bB was Echo/Yaris-based and re-badged as a Scion xB. The second-gen Toyota bB is related to the Daihatsu Materia and 2nd-gen Sirion, whilst the Scion xB became a re-badged Corolla Rumion. Quote
philbey Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 maybe Maxy Yasuda gets his business advice from the I dig it. Funny looking cars rule. As for the Aerodynamics, keep in mind that a volkswagen Kombi has a better coefficient of drag than a 260Z. And anyway, Aerodynamics on a town-commuter, it's a pointless discussion. Quote
Bamboo Posted April 6, 2010 Report Posted April 6, 2010 Not surprising, they're a completely different beast... :D :P :fuzz: :y:  I have a little point here...Nissan and Renault are now the same company. Close one eye and look at a Tiida. then look at a Megane. same DNA!! Quote
