cuzzo Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 (edited) Hey guys and gals, My friend has a ke30 2 door sedan but on the factory complience plate (seatbelts and etc) it says its a 4 door sedan. Now this also doesnt seem like its in its factory location on the firewall. It also says its a 4/77 but from what I'm aware the 2 door sedans are only from late 74 to early 76. Any help or pics of your 2 door sedan plates location or details? Edited March 30, 2010 by cuzzo
philbey Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 sounds like an illegal rebirth to me. I'd be very wary of this car. KE10's have the numbers stamped into the firewall as well, so if it mismatches something shifty is going on.
LukeAE71 Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 As Philbey said the information is duplicated on the firewall stamped into it. If the numbers don't match something smelly is going on :D
cuzzo Posted March 30, 2010 Author Report Posted March 30, 2010 I don't think ive explained well enough. Theres two plates on ke30s. On says the year and model along with any regulations it has passed, the other says the engine type gearbox etc. The one I'm talking about is the first one. It says 4 door sedan when its a 2 door sedan. The later plate does match the firewall but says it was a manual but the badge on the rear says its an auto. all kinds of effed up.
JiP Posted April 1, 2010 Report Posted April 1, 2010 Sounds like the original has fallen off and been lost so they've replaced it with a donor one. The one of my old pano had fallen off. I was told as long as they can prove the car was previously registered it should be fine.
cuzzo Posted April 1, 2010 Author Report Posted April 1, 2010 Thanks Jip, If i posted up the first or last few digits of the VIN could it be identified as being correct for a 2door or atleast identify what year (or close to) this car should be?
