Evan G Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) wow thats weird! i think you have it on the wrong terminal, put it on the top left one to test it put a screwdriver across the top left terminal and battery wire. also I'm 70% sure the solenoid has to throw the fork out before the motor spins Edited March 28, 2010 by Evan G Quote

Ok Got it Going. I used a screw driver on the pos cable and the small wire i have it plugged to, and it wound over straight away... So my guess is there is a problem with wiring in the loom or up near the key for the solenoid. Video of the start http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/vid...?v=405817636941 Quote
Ke20Kidd Posted March 28, 2010 Author Report Posted March 28, 2010 Ok, So Now I'm going to look at getting everything i need to paint the car. I have never painted a car before.(Gotta learn right?) So all tips welcome :D Going to try Order Everything threw work, Trade price :D Things i have thought of so far.. 1.Gravity feed Gun 2.High filler (the yellowish stuff) 3.Primer (not sure what one?) 4.heaps of sandpaper 5.Paint 6.Clear 7.Grease and wax remover 8.thinners ??What else? Will talk to Them at the shop, see what i need and how it all works.... Will buy a tin of paint and practice on the bonnet and guard of my daily, it needs painting and I'm not worried about what it looks like.. Worth using that tar stuff under the car? Thought it would just weigh it down? Even though this will not be a performance beast i don't want to restrict it even more. Also, Looking at painting all components under the car.. Diff, Steering arms and brake parts... Ideas on paint and primer to use? I know there is paint for brakes. . . high temp stuff, Ill also use on diff. But would pressure pack black paint be ok for steering parts and junk. Quote
Doogs Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 Hi Nick, You will also probably need a bit of filler, and a pressure pack of acrylic gloss black or similar to use as a "guidecoat". When you are repairing a panel you can spray a light mist coat of this, and then wet rub it with a flat block and 400grit paper. The black paint will be left where all the low spots are on the panel. Guidecoat shown here; I will also suggest that if you can get your hands on a "speedfile" that will really help get things straight. http://www.northerntool.com/images/product...s/117365_lg.jpg If you block back your repairs with a long board it really helps get the whole panel true and reduce ripples. Other than that, access to a good set of hammers and dollies and a welder. Cheers, Dougal Quote

And Primer it this weekend i hope. Engine Coming out tomorrow, and thinking about seam welding The bay to make it look neat? Or could i use Bog in the engine bay? Strut towers and all? Smooth it right out ???? Then Flip it on its side, for wire brushing, new bushes and all. Then Sound and Rust deadening. This has gone from something i wanted done Quick to something that will take me long over 6 months, I'm a apprentice so I'm trying my best. Any one know were i can Buy Brand new Window Rubbers? Doogs Posted March 30, 2010 Report Posted March 30, 2010 For long flat panels like that 1/4, paintstripper and a scraper will be a bit quicker. The wire brush is good for little tricky areas. Quote
