southslide Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 so on the weekend me and my oldman are goin to pick up a 265 and a 3speed g/box from one of his mates houses free of charge ;) asoon as he said about it i went into a frenzy and decided i want to turbo it and chuck it in a corolla for a burnout/fun car what are your thoughts on this? and from my experiaence of my dads chysler addiction i kno they go very very well for a straight six! anyone kno what the hardest part of doing this would be? I'm guessing it will be modding the trans tunnel? would appreciate opinions and suggestions. cheers scott. images thanks to google. Quote
-=KE30=- Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 DO IT! haha will be a lil bit of work but something u don't see everyday ;) Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 recessed firewall would have to be the hardest, no real drama though if you have a welder. Also sump, might or might not fit, possibly a drama..... Quote
Evan G Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 oh F@@K YEA! ive been in a 300hp centura with a 265, insane! i can see a problem of the engine being to long, especially when running fan, radiator, intercooler infront of it maybe go a 245 slant? for some more room (do 245 come in slant? can't remember) Quote
SLO-030 Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 If you want something somwhat easy for the tunnel here are a couple options. Trans from a car with a larger tunnel, bit of cut and chop then welding it in (properly) or Just making up a 3 sided box that is big enough for the box. 1st suggestion can be made to look neat. Quote
chappo12 Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 i hope its not going in that green corolla that thing is sick stock leave that one and find another one p.s I'm a huge hemi fan but Quote
southslide Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 chappo haha nah man just a google image to give people an idea i wish i had a minta like that an evan yeah i think they come in slant aswell.. but because I'm getting the 265 for free i may aswell go with that evan with the work involved cheers slo030 i recon ill probly just go the 3side tunnel job easier and for a skidder it don't realy matter about looks. but ill see what cars come up while in the build that i might be able to steel the tunnel out of.. too ad to it aswell my dads givin me a 265 e49 spec head he had stashed away!!! all i need now is a car to put it into, thinking of going ke30 or *e7* will probly end up being what i find cheap first. cheers for the reply's guys ill get some pics up once i picup the engine. scott. daggers57 Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 (edited) Hey great idea! 265 Hemis go like stink if you set them up right just look at the E49 RT Chargers they ran the same 1/4 mile time as the much overrated XY GT HO which had a 351 and 4 speed vs the Charger with a 265 and 3 speed I was up in Albury for the Chryslers on the Murray car show the other week and saw a 265 hemi with a pretty serious turbo the guy is from Melbourne and has done an awesome job. I first saw this car on the Eastern fwy and nearly crashed trying to get a better look! It still needs bigger injectors so he hasn't really seen what it's capable of but should fly! Good luck I would love to see a turbo 265 in a corolla. Might want some chassis strengthening though! Edited March 24, 2010 by daggers57 Quote
BReNt Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 have a read through this. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=25668 Quote
southslide Posted March 25, 2010 Author Report Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) look at that farking fire wall!!!! it has an su in the glovebox haha are ke20 engine bays much smaller than 30 *e7* ?? i can recall havnt seen my mates in ages. my other idea was to put it in an 84-85 corona wagon and convert it into a ute. but thats more work ;) it would give me a larger bay to work with tho cheers scott. daggers thats once sexy charger  Edited March 25, 2010 by southslide Quote
