Taz_Rx Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 Considering both motors have pretty much the same sort of mods the 5k should be more powerful than the 4k just because of its bigger capacity. Saying that though a ke70 would be a little bit heavier than a ke55 so you might find the that performance of each CAR is very similar. Let us know the outcome in 3 months I suppose! ;) Quote
brendan Posted March 24, 2010 Author Report Posted March 24, 2010 sure will can't wait .i just orded a gilmer drive kit from endevor enginnering in nz though now i have to look for a thermo fan cause i don't think the stock fan will go onto the gilmer Quote
curly Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 This is exactly why the 0/100 k would have been interesting, everyone could have checked their performance without being a pest on the roads Quote
seabiscuit Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 (edited) I say yours will win, Brendan! ;) This is exactly why the 0/100 k would have been interesting, everyone could have checked their performance without being a pest on the roads Would have been a good "database" of the quickest Rolla's around and for those looking to compare. EDIT: And inspiration for people to get their cars on the road  Edited March 24, 2010 by seabiscuit Quote

LittleRedSpirit Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 This is exactly why the 0/100 k would have been interesting, everyone could have checked their performance without being a pest on the roads The problem with that would be it will spawn an even bigger discussion about illegal stuff. curly Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 The problem with that would be it will spawn an even bigger discussion about illegal stuff. i know that but how can it be illegal to accelerate up to the posted limit, or is that illegal now to Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 i know that but how can it be illegal to accelerate up to the posted limit, or is that illegal now to Just let it die, mate. We gave it a shot and it was proven people start bragging about illegal stuff. The discussion does not end at 100klm/hr. There is a section for 1/4 mile times, thats a far superior way to asses speed, so make do with that. Its also off the road so you can go as fast as you want. I think you will find that if a police officer sees you shifting on the limiter for max acceleration even below 100, he would give you a ticket anyhow. Its a no win for us. If you want rollaclub to remain unmolested by the authorities, just let it go. Quote

philbey Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 gilmer drive hey, make sure it's nice and tight, the more louder it is the more power you'll net from it..... Quote
KENut Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 Bad idea to make it real tight. Sure it'll make more noise, but you'll stuff your water pump bearings real quick. Positive engagement, so making it tighter wont help it transmit more power. Quote
snot35 Posted March 24, 2010 Report Posted March 24, 2010 Give your sarcasm meter a knock, I think it's on the blink. Quote

I've got an endevour gilmer kit (thats my engine bay in there trademe add) and I can tell you they will still allow the use of a stock engine fan, they were designed to do so. Quote
philbey Posted March 25, 2010 Report Posted March 25, 2010 haha, yeh I was just taking the piss. Toothed belt drives are the most efficient belt drive there is but only if they're tensioned to spec. Overtension them and it becomes a pointless exercise. Quote
