So for the past couple of weeks i've had this really annoying, really light rattle coming from somewhere in the front right sorta area of the car. I pulled the wheel off and tinkered around then pu thte wheel back on and the rattle went away for like 10 minutes, and now its back. It sounds like.. umm.. two keys jingling together. Just a really light rattle. Anyone had it? Its driving me mad.

I had a problem similar to this on my AE82 just after i changed the engine. Turned out there was a loose exhaust mount or somethin which was knocking against my driveshaft as i was driving. After about 2 days it got caught and ripped out. Sounded nasty and i was quite worried as i watched a small piece of steel bounce along the road in my rear view mirror, but Its been driving fine for like a month now.

Guess what I'm saying is checkin that theres nothing close to your driveshafts that shouldnt be there ?

Not sure if its much help, but hey, never know.

I own a AE92 and have noticed some strange little noises from the front left area of the car. Changed the front left CV (i knew it was stuffed), but there is still the odd noises while I'm driving, sort of intermittant.

There is also a slight sqeeking coming from that area but only at night, its very very strange but not annoying enough for me to investigate.

Could possibly be missing a brake pad clip from the calliper, allowing the pad to rattle inside the caliper bracket...

Good idea to go over all the bolts around that area of the car, make sure they're all tight...

if its ur CV joints its more like a clicking sound. so for a rattle i would suggest break bad clips.. this does not mean they will fall out or fail u it simple means that one of ur clips for ur break bads have fallen out. the clips r there 2 stop rattling..

jack the front up and spin the wheels by hand and see if either one makes the noise.... just had a similar problem after removing and rebuilding the engine, went for a drive and there was a rattle like keys jingling which was vehicle speed related.... the backing plate for the front disc brakes was bent and rubbing on the disc.... simple :D

The rattle could also be a shagged shock absorber.

Are they they original shocks fitted to the car or have they been replaced?
