springersrolla Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 I'm looking at buying a clean resprayed 5spd ke55 good interior good overall car engines good 14" mags with good tyres what you would say is a reasonable price with rego? Quote
anastasios Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 I get so frustrated by questions like this, how is this a mechanical question! And on top of that start with the search function, or go on ebay, carsales, look in the for sale section etc Quote
ke11restorer Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 I could of had a overrated 55 for $300. Depends. I honestly wouldnt pay over $4000 for running/rego'd tho Quote
sam k Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 A cars only worth what people are prepared to pay for it really. Quote
ke11restorer Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 i guess so but who's gunna pay $100,000 FOR A 55? Quote
springersrolla Posted March 18, 2010 Author Report Posted March 18, 2010 thanks for the advice anastatios i didnt realise it was a mechanical forum I'm on my phone. I realise the questions something like how longs a piece of string but f@$k I'm assuming theres a few people on here with ke55s and they have an idea of what they paid or what they'd pay. I hate keyboard warriors its a pretty simple question that only needs a simple answer. So if someone could help me out it would be good Quote
styler Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 (edited) as been said its worth whatever someone will pay for it, that being said a couple of hundred to a couple of thousand would be the going rate... seriously best idea is to go through the cars that are for sale or have been sold recently to get a perspective on prices... id need pics of the car you are interested in but hey id say $3000 off the top of my head if its as described... I hate keyboard warriors its a pretty simple question that only needs a simple answer. So if someone could help me out it would be good There is no simple answer though. A lot of us have KEs (or used to have them) and I bet every one of us paid a different amount of money for it. I bought one for $300 and one for $200 and the difference between the two was ridiculous (the $300 one needed minor repairs for rego but was essentially stock standard apart from a bodged headunit install and the world's loudest exhaust, and the $200 one had more rust than a hairy ranga and leaked like a sieve but had electronic dizzy, uncracked dash and 13" hotwires) and no way indicative of $100 value (I sold the $300 one eventually for $300, but got way more than $200 worth of parts out of the rust-bucket). go baby go Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 I paid $900 for my first 55 it ran on three cylinders and had surface rust, then when I took it off the road for an overhall ( 2tg 5spd respray etc) I got a ke10 with stuffed motor for $100 and put the motor in from the 55. Sold them both for a few thou each. I want a 55 now and how much would I pay ????? swap you my 180sx To answer your other question "how long is a piece of string" thats an easy one. Equal distance from the centre. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted March 18, 2010 Report Posted March 18, 2010 (edited) If you want it you will pay as much as you can. I got my e7 for my price cos I just wanted one. Hunt, compare, beat up an old dude for his car..... EDIT: Rollaclub does not condone beating up old people, but following overrated cars back to their houses and freaking them out with wads of cash is ok. Edited March 18, 2010 by blzbub666 Quote
