have been driving this to work for the last week, and the last couple of days noticed that my wide band was around 13:1 afrs(was tuned to around 12:1) and that my et street tyres didnt work as well as they used to. i never really get a chance to look at the boost guage on the road as its a little dangerous while on boost but took a glance as it comes onto boost and saw that it was reading nothing, the problem being that the boost guage is T pieced off the wastegate hose, so if the gauge isnt working neither is the wastegate. opened the bonnet and realised that the vacuum hose had blown off whoops.

so not sure how much boost it runs with no wastegate reference but would imagine that it would spike over 40psi as it comes on and probably come back to around 36-37psi. the bonus is that it would have 18-20 degrees of timing at that boost and still no sign of detination. so maybe its time for a 4 bar map sensor

hahahahaha! "I'm smoking 4th gear something must be wrong"

that was basically how i figured it out on 30psi its dangerous on 35+psi its VERY dangerous so realised something was up

lol, funny way to work out there was a problem, but at least the problem was found :) how much does a 1j go for nowadays? it clearly seems shit all over an rb25

you can get a half cut for under $1500, or if you want just a motor wouldnt pay more than $500. considering on 35+psi mine is probably making close to 650rwhp on a standard engine 1jz's are definately strong
