its my birthday this month so I'm accepting donations for turbo and roll cage incase everyone couldnt decide what to get me.

ive been saving money but unsure what to spend it on, cressida, cortina or ke55. i really want to do a 1jz ke55 but unsure if the mod plate laws are going to go through to make it legal as i would want it to be registered

As far as legality goes, cutting the firewall is a big not allowed. So if you can sqeeze it in there?

under current laws the capacity of 2.5 is too large. weight of vehicle (930) x 2.5

but we will be getting ncop soon, the maths then changes to weight of vehicle x 2.75

930 x 2.75 = 1jz ke55 with no radiator?

yeh I'm holding off to see if the new laws get approved, you don't have any info to when or if the ncop is happening?

ive got a mate that does mods plates for a living and he thinks there may be ways to do a firewall change legaly but will have to look into that more

What about a 1G-GTE, or an RB20DET?

both not really going to cut it in the power department. standard 1jz with 35psi and built 1jz 4speed auto can get me to 600+rwhp which will be needed to get me to a 8 so makes it much cheaper in the end

RB20det is a much longer motor, with less to offer all round really.

No idea with NCOP mate, no one knows, only internet rumour.

My opinion only would say end of the year. I think you are pretty safe to think seriously about the conversion though, as it will happen, its just a question of when.

yeh thats what i was thinking but don't really want to spend money until i know for sure, as i may even sell cressida or cortina to fund it which i don't really want to part with either but see what happens

update is my et streets are bald after 2000kms (this is my 3rd set) as they still spin on the road so going back to 215/15 tires as they are cheaper to replace every couple of months will just use the mickey thompsons every now and then.

also for those running pump e85 it pays to change your fuel filter every time you change your oil ive done around 5000kms since i last changed the fuel filter and it was half blocked, which was enough to make it run leaner and was harder to start.

I'm also trying to save for a cage, but everytime i have the money bills seem to come up but hopefully by the end of the year cage will happen.

one of these will also hopefully happen soon, which will be plenty to get me easily into the 9's it will give me hopefully between 50-100rwhp more than the turbo i have now

for those that followed the cortina awhile back, finally put it on the dyno today and made a lazy 350rwhp on 13psi. will be fixing a few things this week then will be getting tuned to around 18psi which should see the 400hp mark then I'm proabably going to change the camshaft to get me up to around 450rwhp on 20psi or less. that shoud get me to around 10.5 quarters depending if i need to change suspension or not. will drive it like that for a while and see what its like before we push it any furthur.

yikes, no wonder you're struggling to buy the cage, the cortina and the cressida both going places fast!

Thats some solid power on 13psi.

yes money is a little thin at the moment, but the main reason that i havent done a cage is because I'm not sure which car to put it in cressida i can get to run high 9's no worries but past that i will have to change a fair amount of stuff (gearbox and turbo mainly), but cortina its probably as easy as putting pistons and rods in my motor e85 and 30psi (550-600rwhp) and should be able to run 9.5 or better
