Kiwi-Corolla Posted May 15, 2012 Author Report Posted May 15, 2012 that coin/card holder is cool as I might keep an eye out for one instead of using my ashtray, I'm assuming its single DIN dimensions? Awesome, but good luck, they're incredibly hard to find ;). JDM market only so keep an eye out for the Jap models only. Yep, single DIN dimensions. Here's a few new photos that I took today: Quote
Kiwi-Corolla Posted May 18, 2012 Author Report Posted May 18, 2012 Couldn't resist taking one more photo :D - Quote
Kiwi-Corolla Posted May 29, 2012 Author Report Posted May 29, 2012 Thanks mate. Here's some new photos taken over the last few days: Quote
Kiwi-Corolla Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 Your car looks flawless! Great ride. Thanks mate :D so whats next for it? Next on the list is shaved front door handle locks and a brand new set of BZ Touring headlights (same as my current set but brand spanking new from Toyota). Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 Next on the list is shaved front door handle locks and a brand new set of BZ Touring headlights (same as my current set but brand spanking new from Toyota). What's wrong with your current ones? Quote
Ben-89 Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 What's wrong with your current ones? The current ones are non genuine maybe, possibly replica? Quote
Kiwi-Corolla Posted June 3, 2012 Author Report Posted June 3, 2012 What's wrong with your current ones? The headlight lenses are looking a little yellowy due to age. Not bad though (as seen in the photos) but brand new ones will be clear as a bell. My current ones can probably be wet sanded to look like new, but I've already ordered my new set and am going to sell my current set to recuperate some of the cost. Nothing physically wrong with my current ones though, I'm just a fussy prick, lol. The current ones are non genuine maybe, possibly replica? Hell no! . Definitely wouldn't find knock-off items of the originals on my car Quote
Kiwi-Corolla Posted June 4, 2012 Author Report Posted June 4, 2012 I eliminated my two front door locks today by installing some rear door handles in the front doors. Wasn't as easy as I thought it would be as one of the mounting tabs on each of the front doors didn't line up to the rear handles so I had to make a custom bracket to bridge the two points together, but the effort was all worth it in the end. Looks so much cleaner and should act as a deterrent to thieves. Here's some pics: Quote
Subaru_kid Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 (edited) Man you are fussy! lights look fine to me! haha you should try/see my AE82's... I'm blind as a bat in the night! One thing thats bothering me with this car for a while is the side skirt IMO. its 10 inches lower than the rest of the kit (small over-exaggeration) and it ruins the flow of the kit.... sorry to be like that mate, just one thing ive noticed :P Apart from that, the car is perfect!! Did you end up cleaning the rear lip up a little bit more? :) Edited June 4, 2012 by Subaru_kid Quote
Kiwi-Corolla Posted June 4, 2012 Author Report Posted June 4, 2012 Haha yeah, you can blame my Dad for that. I inherited his fussiness. I very rarely drive at night so these new headlights should last forever. I'm trying to track down a set of original headlights covers though, because I'd hate to get a stone chip on one of them when I travel out of town. I had a set a while ago but didn't like the look of them so sold them, but now I'd only be using them for long trips so they'd be worth having. Lol, yeah 10-inches is a slight exaggeration :P. I can see what you mean but I love the actual height of the sideskirts. It's the front and rear lips that need to be lower, but the rear lip is about as beefy as you can go without extending the actual height of the whole bumper and I like the subtleness of the front lip. I could change the sideskirts to skinnier ones but they're fibreglass and urethaned on, so they'd be a right bastard to ever get off. Definitely possible though. Would just have to find some sideskirts that I like. The AE111 GT ones are nice, but finding one of those being wrecked is rarer than tits on a bull ;) Rear lip remains the same. It's as tidy as it's ever going to get. Nothing wrong with the actual fitment, just the little white piece above the muffler, which doesn't bother me :) Quote
