ke11restorer Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Picked up an ae86 tonite. Unsure of what to do with it. Heres a pic. Might go a mild 4age and use it for a daily thrasher who knows >| Quote
Johno Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Nice score! Wish i could get one.. I reccon just get it rego'd then drive it around and colour code the bumpers and then later on, save up and chuck a 4agze in >| Quote
mungi mods Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 is that the 4 x 4 version? needs much more low. like 4 inches Quote
ke11restorer Posted March 16, 2010 Author Report Posted March 16, 2010 is that the 4 x 4 version?needs much more low. like 4 inches Its the motor and box out version. Also the non drift hack thrashed version also. Shell's pretty clean, no existing damage, minimal rust. No sunroof = win!!! Mates got a CA18DET he's taking out of his 180 to put an sr20 in.. MMMmm CA18 HACHI?? >| :lolcry: Quote
spilmer Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 thats the problem with ca18's...nissan silvia left overs. Quote
ke11restorer Posted March 16, 2010 Author Report Posted March 16, 2010 doesnt mean they aint a good motor tho? Quote
Murd 55 Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 if you say so... my silvia is currently headless as apparently when fiting head its ok to drop on HG and then to not retorque the head and well then i have the car for a few months and everything turns to shit! (i had nothing to do with any of the head neglect) and i only have a CA18DE... turbo versions apparently disagree with HG's altogether. SR is a far stronger motor. id go with a mild 4agze. Quote
seabiscuit Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 and i only have a CA18DE... turbo versions apparently disagree with HG's altogether. SR is a far stronger motor. id go with a mild 4agze. 4AGZE is indestructobile! Go for it or 4AGE. As you said, it's only a daily hack. Lots of work to turn a Hachi into SR/CA daily hack... 4AGE = plug and play! Quote
78_7kRolla Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Good score! I say leave it bone stock and source a 4ac and 5 speed for it (should be nice and cheap too!). Don't sell it to a hack whatever you do. Quote
ke11restorer Posted March 17, 2010 Author Report Posted March 17, 2010 I'm thinking 20v. I can pick up that CA18DET for $350 full package, motor loom box etc. But will try my luck for a 20V first. Wanna keep it all Toyota. I don't see the problem with dropping an engine package in it so long as its done right. Quote
philbey Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 (edited) holy shit that looks sooooo much like my old one, except that the grille on mine was different (jap spec). Any old rego details? It's not NHC079 rego is/was it (yeh it was in Vic) Does that right hand front indicator look like it has been replaced? Edited March 17, 2010 by philbey Quote
